Dum dum dum dum dum dadadada dum dum
I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way aye to your heart
I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way through the dark, ohh

You left me here for stranded, look at where we Landed
It's going down titanic, trying not to panic, ain't no need in wasting time
Wasting time look at all this damage, Got me feeling all abandon
I need to know now, know now, cause I need understand aye aye oh

I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way aye to your heart
I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way through the dark ohh

You say I'm dramatic, By the way I'm acting, shoot me down shoot me down semi Automatic, you probably need to um um reload, from dragging all this baggage
I had to put a claim on you, cause baggage claim ain't have no name for you love

I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way aye to your heart
I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way through the dark

Light me up, light me up, light me up
Light me up

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of JxHines's "Fireflies" is a representation of the emotional turmoil and heartache involved in a relationship where one person is trying to hold on while the other is trying to let go. The song begins with the sound "Dum dum dum dum dum dadadada dum dum" which sets the mood of the song with a sense of uncertainty and sadness. The lyrics "I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way to your heart" means that the person left behind is advising their partner to follow their heart and let the memories of the relationship lead them where they need to go. The next line "I know you see fireflies, fireflies let them light your way through the dark" is a metaphor for the hope and positivity that can still shine in even the darkest of times.

The second verse highlights the desperation and regret felt by the person left behind. The lines "You left me here for stranded, look at where we Landed, It's going down Titanic, trying not to panic, ain't no need in wasting time" gives a sense of the frustration and pain of not being able to save a sinking relationship. The person is trying not to panic and waste any more time but it is easier said than done.

The chorus repeats the message of the first verse, urging the person to follow the light of the fireflies and let their heart guide them out of the darkness. The final line "Light me up, light me up, light me up" is a plea for the other person to reignite their love and reignite the spark in the relationship.

I know it's a small detail but my favorite visualization is the rays of sunlight as they are caught beaming through the woods in the forest scene. And the artificial rays used as the leading lady gazed straight at the camera as well at the beginning.
