From a young age K-Bust studied classical piano, and built her skills as a lyricist, composer and interpreter. She was also influenced by music of the 70s and 80s – pop icons such as Madonna, Michael Jackson, as well as old-school soul like Marvin Gaye – all of whom played a major role in developing her unique musical style.
She moved to Montreal, Canada in 2003 in order to dedicate herself to music, and quickly made a name for herself on the local scene. Among her many successes, she opened for Los Prisoneros (the biggest Chilean rock band), and performed at various music festivals in Montreal and Toronto. All the while she continued her professional vocal training, and was awarded “best author-composer-interpreter” by the McGill University jury in 2007.
Since 2008, she has been performing live and on the radio for events like the Chilean earthquake benefit concert, World Music Day and “The Apollo Nights” show, where she sang alongside Alan Prater, a former Michael Jackson musician and back-up vocalist.
After collaborating with many local Montreal artists, K- Bust’s career really took off in 2009 when she recorded a song by Benoit Jutras (Cirque du Soleil composer) for the new show of Franco Dragone; (The House of Dancing Water) in Macao, Hong-Kong. Shortly after, she joined forces with renowned Montreal producer Sonny Black, the man behind the international success of artist such as Corneille, Dubmatique, Sheryfa Luna, K’maro, Shy’m, and Kulcha Connection.
Sonny and K-Bust developed an extraordinary musical chemistry, which drove the 11 powerful songs they co-produced for her debut album “Urban Stories.” Revealing a combination of Alicia Keys neo-soul sensibility, Gwen Stefani’s urban style, the feisty attitude of Madonna and Afro-Latin sounds, the album is a faithful reflection of K-Bust’s diverse personality. With “Urban Stories”, K-Bust is ready to invade the pop-music world market.
Love's Gone Away

I belong to this world
I’m like you, you’re like me
Don’t believe in frontiers
Cause we are all one blood
We should look for the light
When are we gonna learn
To turn hate into love
Free your mind, free your soul
Like a bird flies away
Make a wish, make a change
Create your destiny
Open your eyes and see
Wake up from this bad dream
This world is not the same
Cause we have lost our faith
Chorus:
Can’t see the stars shinning
Love has gone away
Love has gone away
From our hearts
Can’t see the light coming
Love has gone away
Love has gone away
From our hearts
Verse II:
I dream of a better place
Where we feel free to speak
There’s no religion
There’s no woman in chains
Why do we have to let
Somebody else decide
Whether it's wrong or right
For everyone of us
Free your mind, free your soul
Like a bird flies away
Make a wish, make a change
Create your destiny
Open your eyes and see
Wake up from this bad dream
This world is not the same
Cause we have lost our faith
Chorus:
Can’t see the stars shinning
Love has gone away
Love has gone away
From our hearts
Can’t see the light coming
Love has gone away
Love has gone away
From our hearts
Bridge:
Don’t tell me what to say
Don’t tell me what to think
Stop putting in my head
The things that I should believe
Don’t tell me what to see
Don’t tell me what to hear
Stop putting in my ears
The lies that I should believe
Spoken:
The time has already come
The only way we can make it right
Is living … as one
Chorus:
The lyrics to K-Bust's song Love's Gone Away call for unity and love among all people regardless of their race, gender, or beliefs. The singer insists that there are no frontiers that separate us and that we should look for the light and learn to turn hate into love. She encourages listeners to free their minds and souls and create their destiny by making a wish and a change. The singer believes that we have lost our faith and calls on people to open their eyes and see that the world is not the same, that love has gone away from our hearts, which is why we cannot see the stars shining, nor the light coming. She dreams of a better place where people feel free to speak and where there is neither religion nor women in chains. She questions why we have to let someone else decide whether what we do is right or wrong and appeals for individualism, freedom of expression, thought, and choice. She warns against imposing beliefs on others and deceiving them with lies. The lyrics go on to insist that the only way for us to make things right is by living as one.
