K-Ci and JoJo's first sign of independence came in 1994 when K-Ci covered Bobby Womack's hit "If You Think You're Lonely Now" for the movie Jason's Lyric. Early in 1996, K-Ci and Jo-Jo teamed up for the song "How Could You" for the movie Bulletproof starring Damon Wayans and Adam Sandler.
By July 1996, K-Ci and JoJo finally had a hit on their hands as guest artists in 2Pac's number-one R&B hit "How Do U Want It". It also topped the Billboard Hot 100. The brothers made their side projects into a full album, Love Always. Released on June 17, 1997, the album spawned two top-ten R&B hits: "You Bring Me Up" and "Last Night's Letter". "All My Life" was the number-one song on the Hot 100 for three weeks, a feat that K-Ci and Jo-Jo had never achieved with Jodeci.Love Always went on to sell four million copies, and the success of the album put Jodeci's reunion on hold indefinitely.
Their second album,It's Real, was released on June 22, 1999. It spawned one major hit "Tell Me It's Real" which peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and Billboard's R&B charts. K-Ci and Jo-Jo returned with X on December 5, 2000. "X", the Roman numeral for ten, was picked as the album title to celebrate the Haileys' tenth anniversary in the music business. They made a strong return to the Billboard Hot 100 early in 2001 with the song "Crazy", also included on the Save the Last Dance soundtrack. "Crazy" peaked at number three on the Billboard Hot 100.
The fourth K-Ci and Jo-Jo album, Emotional, was released on November 26, 2002, but failed to find commercial success. K-Ci and JoJo released a greatest hits album on February 8, 2005. They are believed to have teamed back up with DeVante Swing and Mr. Dalvin for a Jodeci reunion album.
How Many Times
K-Ci & JoJo Lyrics

You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you let him break your heart
I heard he lied to you
I heard your love he abused
Don't say it isn't so
I see it in your eyes
How many times you gonna let him use you
You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you, let him break your heart
He gives you lonely nights
And he can hear you cry
And love you he denies
He's never gonna change
He just can't accept the blame
How many times you gonna let him use you
You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you, let him break your heart
Girl dry your eyes
Get up off your face
Don't be ashamed. find someone else new
Someone who'll appreciate you
Always love you
How many times you gonna let him use you
You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you, let him break your heart
The lyrics to K-Ci & JoJo's "How Many Times" offer a poignant message about a woman who is repeatedly mistreated by her partner but cannot seem to break away from him. The song's opening line, "How many times you're gonna let him use you," sets the tone for the rest of the song. The songwriters are encouraging this woman to wake up and recognize that she deserves better treatment, and that her partner will continue to mistreat her as long as she allows it.
The lyrics then ask a series of rhetorical questions that highlight the woman's confusion and inability to leave her partner. The singer wonders how she can let her partner "treat you so bad," and "break your heart" repeatedly. The lyrics also suggest that the woman's partner is cheating on her, which is something she may know but refuses to accept.
The song's chorus repeats the question of "how many times" she will allow her partner to hurt her before she decides to leave. The final verse offers some hope, as the singer encourages the woman to "get up off your face" and find someone new who will appreciate and always love her.
Overall, the song is a powerful message of empowerment for anyone who is in an abusive or toxic relationship. It encourages individuals to recognize their self-worth and make the difficult decision to leave a situation that is harmful to their well-being.
