in this song seem to be running around with their heads cut off, chasing material possessions and money, while neglecting the things that truly matter. The singer is expressing his frustration with someone who claims to love him but constantly turns and walks away. He sees this person on the streets, but they ignore him as if he has no feelings, as if he's just "living high". He believes that they don't know the touch of an angel that's rocking their soul, but he does.
The chorus speaks about the rain coming down and the singer being alone, while the person who claims to love him is never around. However, when the sun comes up, they always steal the fire. This could be interpreted as them only being around when things are going well, but abandoning ship when times get tough. The people around town seem to be running around without feelings, chasing money and material possessions, rather than focusing on what's really important. The singer is frustrated with this lifestyle and just wants some respect.

But people have no feelings
People can be callous towards others' suffering.

They are ignorant and apathetic towards the world's issues.
We keep chasing dollars
Society is obsessed with wealth and money.

It frustrates and annoys me.
I just don't know
I am unsure about the direction society is heading.
I don't need a check
I require more than just financial success to be happy.
I need some respect
I need others to appreciate and acknowledge my accomplishments.

To those listening, understand my worth.
And the war
The war and conflict in the world are pressing issues.
And the babies crying
The suffering of innocent children is heart-wrenching.
And the car
Material possessions such as cars are unimportant in the grand scheme of things.
And the house
Likewise, owning a house is not the key to happiness.
And the rings
Expensive jewelry or other luxuries do not bring meaning to life.
And the things that don't mean nothing
These materialistic things are ultimately meaningless.
You could try to hate
Although others may try to bring me down out of jealousy or spite.

Regardless, they will never be able to diminish my value or worth.
But I'm here to elevate
I am here to rise above the negativity and uplift others.
I'll be floating in outer space now
I am breaking free of the constraints of society and forging my own path.
