You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you let him break your heart
I heard he lied to you
I heard your love he abused
Don't say it isn't so
I see it in your eyes
How many times you gonna let him use you
You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you, let him break your heart
He gives you lonely nights
And he can hear you cry
And love you he denies
He's never gonna change
He just can't accept the blame
How many times you gonna let him use you
You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you, let him break your heart
Girl dry your eyes
Get up off your face
Don't be ashamed. find someone else new
Someone who'll appreciate you
Always love you
How many times you gonna let him use you
You'd think that you would know by now
How could you let him treat you so bad
How many times will you, let him break your heart
The lyrics of K. Michelle's song "How many times" are aimed towards a woman who is in a toxic relationship with a guy who constantly mistreats her. The singer asks the woman how many times she is willing to let this man use her and break her heart before she realizes that she deserves better. The singer reveals that she has heard that this guy lies to the woman and abuses her love. The woman is unable to hide that she is being mistreated and it's visible in her eyes. The singer tells the woman that the guy is never going to change and he refuses to accept any blame. In the end, the singer tells the woman to get up off her face, find someone new who will appreciate and love her.
The song reflects how sometimes people tend to stay in toxic relationships even when they know they're being mistreated. The woman in the song continues to let this guy use her because she doesn't realize her own worth. The singer is trying to help the woman see that she has the power to walk away from this situation and find someone who will treat her the way she deserves to be treated.
