"Diamonds EP" (Dec 2009) on Mine All Mine! Records
No one track on the Diamonds EP was written for a single person. While I speak to "you" in each song, that "you" is a combination of myself, my family and my friends. The EP is about outgrowing the comfort that surrounds childhood and adolescence and all of the hardships you face in "the real world". The album is about balancing sickness with responsibility. It is about religion, about secrets, and it is about lies.
"Caffeiene LP" (Aug 2009) Self released/Mine All Mine! Records
Free download at kwilhelm.bandcamp.com. Essentially a collection of all music before the Diamonds EP. Selections from all the EPs and earlier albums are reconsidered and remastered.
"SUNDAZE EP" (June 2009) on Mine All Mine! Records
This EP includes four tracks with a smooth electronic feel and two bonus acoustic versions of some of them.
"Golden Days Split" [With Pushmi-Pullyu] (April 2009) [Cassette Only] on Mine All Mine! Records

"This Gun's For Shooting Stars" (April 2009) on Mine All Mine! Records
"The second full-length release by K. Wilhelm, this release sees his dark, dirty rock experimental pop move even farther into its own corner of the music world. Definitely a skilled musician, you must download This Gun's For Shooting Stars if you have any inkling of taste in music."

K. Wilhelm Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Trying to become a gem
But you only see the coal
Never good enough again
Always being second plate
Never being first course meal
Underestimated much?
Baby I be a crown jewel
Ready to become a gem
Everyone just sees the coal
Now I'm just an icy hoe
Baby I'm a full course meal
Everybody wants me now
Never second plate again
Baby I'm the whole buffet
Underestimated much?
I just stole your fucking fame
Underestimate me much?
I just stole your fucking fame
The lyrics to K. Wilhelm's song "Diamonds" are a reflection of the rapper's life on the road, where the pressure to succeed is always high. The line "Roam in the cold, diamonds on froze" represents the tough and sometimes harsh lifestyle that K. Wilhelm leads. He makes it clear that he is always working, always "on go", and that his ultimate goal is to make as much money as possible. The line "Bank overload, I'm on the road, never at home" is a testament to his work ethic and his determination to succeed.
The lyrics also touch on the theme of loyalty and brotherhood, as K. Wilhelm proclaims his willingness to ride or die for his close friends and colleagues. He stresses the importance of always standing by your people, through the good times and the bad, no matter what obstacles come your way. The line "Forever gone ride til I die with my niggas" is a statement of his loyalty to the people he considers his family.

One huge thing to watch out for is to make sure you are always sharpening from one end to the other. I've seen many using a diamond or ceramic steel and using it like a regular honing steel. And haphazardly run their knives from whichever point they choose across the steel. Eventually over the course of a year or so, caving in the belly of their knives.
Cos
Yep, good callout. That will lead to a recurve forming in the edge.
If a slight recurve does form, you can straighten it out on a stone.
Michael Sullivan
I have been using them for years also and finish up with a ceramic rod. They work just as you have shown.
Cos
That's a good way to finish up the edge afterwards.
You could also try stropping the edge over leather after the ceramic. It will polish it and clean up whatever small burrs remain.

LOL...Your paper cutting test was a bit biased!
Diamond steels are good for regular maintenance, but you can't beat good water stones for bringing back dull knives.
Diamond steels also tend to leave quite a rough edge on the blade, whereas using the right grit water stones in the correct order, will result in a superior blade edge everytime, without question.
Camsfitness
I was thinking the same thing. You first have to have a sharp knife in order for the steel to work good on the knife not to mention actually knowing how to steel a knife along with maintaining your edge with a water or oil stone every now and again .

How long does it last ?
Cos
Mine is still in great shape, and I think it's been over a year so far. Just want to make sure you clean it after each use so it doesn't get clogged up.
Ezequiel Aguirre
Any suggestions as for keeping it clean?
