THE WORLD
KELUN Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The lyrics to KELUN's song THE WORLD is about the singer's longing for a person who has gone away from their life, represented by the distant and fading figure in the lead verse. The inability to wave goodbye and the feeling of being left behind, helpless and colorless, in a big empty world are expressed here. The lyrics also touch on how the world feels colorless, almost as if everything has lost its vibrancy, and how this has affected people, resulting in them having lost their facial expressions and emotions.
This melancholic song is a reflection of one of the experiences of life we all go through at some point. The singer is battling with the idea of how to move forward and not let their heart sink deeper into sorrow. The lyrics, "手を振ろう 遠ざかる君へ" ("Wave my hand, to you who are going away") and "手を振るよ さよなら" ("Shake hands and say goodbye"), capture the singer's desire to follow the person who has left, to make them stay or to be able to leave with them. There is a sense of urgency and desperation, and the lyrics bring out the emotions of sadness and longing.
