I've been on my own for long enough
Maybe you can show me how to live, maybe
I'm going through it all
You don't even have to say too much
You can say it all with just a song, baby
I look around and
No one's around to judge me (Ah)
I can't see clearly when you're gone
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep 'cause you know I think too much
I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night
Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I trust
Hey, hey, hey
I'm running out of time
'Cause I can see the sun light up the sky
So I hit the road in overdrive, baby (Oh)
This city's cold and empty (Ah)
No one's around to judge me (Ah)
I can't see clearly when you're gone
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep 'cause you know I think too much
I said, ooh, I'm drowning in the night
Oh, when I'm like this, you're the one I trust
I'm just walking by to let you know (By to let you know)
I could never say it on the phone (Say it on the phone)
Will never let you go this time
I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep 'cause you know I think too much
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, I said, ooh, I'm blinded by the lights
No, I can't sleep 'cause you know I think too much (Much)
The lyrics of "Blinding Lights" by KIDZ BOP Kids convey a sense of loneliness and a desire for human connection. The singer is struggling with being on their own for too long and is reaching out for someone to show them how to live. They suggest that this person doesn't even need to say much, as music can convey everything. The city they are in is cold and empty, and nobody is around to judge them. The absence of this person in their life makes it difficult for them to see clearly, and they feel "blinded by the lights." This line could be interpreted as the city's bright lights being overwhelming or representing a sense of emptiness and loneliness.
The singer recognizes that they are running out of time and feels the pressure to move forward in life. They hit the road in overdrive, perhaps implying a need to escape their current situation. Despite this, they continue to feel lost and alone in the city's emptiness. The lyrics suggest their desire for this one person's presence, as it brings them comfort and trust. The final verse has the singer reaching out to let this person know that they need them and will never let them go.
