Don't care what you say to me, I'ma bite the feelings out (gold up in my teeth)
I missed it in the basement (gold up in my teeth)
Running on the pavement (gold up in my teeth)
And if you love me, love me but you never let me go
When the roof is on fire, you never let me know
Say you're sorry honey, but you never really show
And I could leave the party without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Gold up in my, gold up in my teeth (gold up, gold up in my teeth)
Tastes like money when I speak (gold up, gold up in my teeth)
And I missed it in the basement (yeah, gold up in my teeth)
Running on the pavement (oh, gold up in my teeth)
And if you love me, love me but you never let me go
When the roof is on fire, you never let me know
Say you're sorry honey, but you never really show (gold up in my teeth)
And I could leave the party without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Gold up in my, gold up in my teeth (gold up, gold up in my teeth)
Taste like money when I speak (gold up, gold up in my teeth)
And I missed it in the basement (yeah, gold up in my teeth)
Running on the pavement (oh)
And if you love me, love me but you never let me go
When the roof is on fire, you never let me know
Say you're sorry honey, but you never really show (gold up in my teeth)
And I could leave the party without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
Without ever letting you know
The lyrics to KIDZ BOP Kids' song Gold describe a person with an extravagant lifestyle, as symbolized by the gold in their teeth. They don't care what people say about them and use their teeth as a way to bite out their emotions. The person feels as though they have missed out on something while being stuck in the basement, but now they're running on pavement and enjoying their wealth. The chorus repeats the same sentiment throughout the song: if someone loves them, that person never lets them go, but when the roof is on fire, they don't know about it. This line could be interpreted as their significant other not being there for them during difficult times, either emotionally or physically.
The bridge implies that the person can leave a party without ever letting their significant other know, indicating that they feel unimportant and easily replaceable. Ultimately, the song expresses a feeling of loneliness and internal conflict despite outward displays of wealth and extravagance. The gold in their teeth symbolizes material success, but it cannot fill the emotional void they are feeling.
