Down below the cars in the city go rushing by
I sit here alone and I wonder why
Friday night and everyone's moving
I can feel the heat but it's soothing
Heading down, I search for the beat in this dirty town
Down town the young ones are growing
We're the kids in America
We're the kids in America
Everybody live for the music-go-round
Bright ligths the music get faster
Look boy, don't check on your watch, not another glance
I'm not leaving now, honey not a chance
Hot-shot, give me no problems
Much later baby you'll be saying never mind
You know life is cruel, life is never kind
Kind hearts don't make a new story
Kind hearts don't grab any glory
We're the kids in America
We're the kids in America
Everybody live for the music-go-round
Come closer, honey that's better
Got to get a brand new experience
Feeling right
Oh don't try to stop baby
Hold me tight
Outside a new day is dawning
Outside Suburbia's sprawling everywhere
I don't want to go baby
New York to East California
There's a new wave coming I warn you
We're the kids in America
We're the kids in America
Everybody live for the music-go-round
We're the kids
We're the kids
We're the kids in America
The song "Kids In America" by KIDZ BOP Kids describes the feeling of being young and restless, living in a fast-paced city in America. The song opens with the singer looking out of a dirty old window, contemplating the chaos and rush of the city. Despite the isolation and confusion felt by the singer, the rush and excitement of the Friday night crowd is soothing. The singer describes heading downtown to find the beat, and notes that the young ones in the city are growing and living life to the fullest.
The chorus of the song celebrates the idea of living for the music-go-round, suggesting that music unites and excites people of all ages and backgrounds. The second verse of the song focuses on the idea that life can be cruel and unkind, but kind hearts don't need glory to make a difference. The bridge of the song suggests that the rush and excitement of the city, and the music-go-round, is something that cannot be ignored or forgotten.
Overall, "Kids In America" is a song that celebrates the freedom and excitement of being young and living in America, and the exhilaration that comes with experiencing the music and the culture of the city.
