The group's earliest incarnation included German drummer En Esch and British vocalist Raymond Watts, the latter of whom left and rejoined the group several times over its history. The trio recorded the band's earliest albums in Germany before Konietzko and Esch moved to the United States, where they found much greater success with seminal industrial record label Wax Trax!. German guitarist Günter Schulz joined in 1990; both he and Esch continued with the band until KMFDM broke up in 1999. Konietzko resurrected KMFDM in 2002 (Esch and Schulz declined to rejoin) on Metropolis Records, and by 2005 he had assembled a consistent line-up that included American singer Lucia Cifarelli, British guitarists Jules Hodgson and Steve White, and British drummer Andy Selway. Konietzko and Cifarelli moved back to Germany in 2007, while the rest of band stayed in the U.S. In addition to these core members, dozens of other musicians have worked with the group across its nineteen studio albums and two dozen singles, with sales totaling in excess of two million records worldwide.
Critics consider KMFDM to be one of the first bands to bring industrial music to mainstream audiences, though Konietzko refers to the band's music as "The Ultra-Heavy Beat". The band incorporates heavy metal guitar riffs, electronic music, samples, and both male and female vocals in its music, which encompasses a variety of styles including industrial rock and electronic body music (EBM). The band is fiercely political, with many of its lyrics taking stands against violence, war, and oppression. KMFDM normally tours at least once after every major release, and band members are known for their accessibility to and interaction with fans, both online and at concerts. Members, singly or working together and with other musicians, have recorded under many other names, primarily Watts' PIG, Konietzko's Excessive Force, and Esch and Schulz's Slick Idiot.

KMFDM Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Poor sick dumb numb feeding faeces
Half-eaten starved beaten multiplying lying cheating
Lean mean unclean ammo for the gun-machine
Cannonfodder driven by fear
Last-class raw mass victims of the puppeteer
Human driftwood lepers pariah
Everybody do your part
Hope is life and fire to the heart
Rattle your chains
Never back down
Blow your brains
Stand your ground
Plutocratic rule and power
Rich fat small balls' final hour
Big last gulp end of reign
Flush dictators down the drain
The lyrics of KMFDM's song "Jihad" present an honest and jarring commentary on the state of the human race. The opening lines "Homo sapiens a dying species/Poor sick dumb numb feeding faeces" set the tone for the rest of the song - that humanity is on a path to destruction with no one to blame but ourselves. The song goes on to describe people as "half-eaten starved beaten multiplying lying cheating/lean mean unclean ammo for the gun-machine" - painting a picture of a society that is destructive and violent.
The chorus of the song urges everyone to "do your part" and reminds us that "hope is life and fire to the heart." The final verse of the song speaks out against plutocratic rule and power, describing it as the "big last gulp end of reign/ flush dictators down the drain." The song leaves us with the feeling that while we may be headed for destruction, there is still a glimmer of hope left if we all work together to make a change.

@RSFO
The whole album from 2003 is about "the war on terror" and the War on Iraq and Afghanistan. KMFDM were always political, yet they most of the time combined sarcastic and absurd humour with real stuff. Haven't heard an outright angry KMFDM until WWIII though. That one is outright angry.
@KMFDM_Kid2000
RSFO I was completely on board with them back then as the whole war on terror was a farce. But now I can't back them on their pro-Antifa identitarian communistic nonsense. Still love their music though. Always will.
@DBZ483
@KMƒÐM_KîÐ2Ø00™ same man they make such AMAZING music but their views to be honest are bullshit.
@lancehenry8170
Just destroy the kabba, and temple mound. Islam goes mad dog, gets put down by the rest of the world.
@trippinsciko
@KMƒÐM_KîÐ2Ø00™ that was them their whole career though, does no one listen to lyrics or understand context? And what's wrong with being against fascism?
@trippinsciko
They've been so far left in all of their songs that to complain about them being political is stupid, if nothing else, the best music is always politically left, never really seen any right wing bands that don't suck.
@traxikscifi8105
Sublime!

Nice! thanks uploader
@calebkelley4717
Hardcore and great!
@immer360
it can go on and on and on, but the big picture is, people need to believe, what they believe in is all about what we are
