The group's earliest incarnation included German drummer En Esch and British vocalist Raymond Watts, the latter of whom left and rejoined the group several times over its history. The trio recorded the band's earliest albums in Germany before Konietzko and Esch moved to the United States, where they found much greater success with seminal industrial record label Wax Trax!. German guitarist GΓΌnter Schulz joined in 1990; both he and Esch continued with the band until KMFDM broke up in 1999. Konietzko resurrected KMFDM in 2002 (Esch and Schulz declined to rejoin) on Metropolis Records, and by 2005 he had assembled a consistent line-up that included American singer Lucia Cifarelli, British guitarists Jules Hodgson and Steve White, and British drummer Andy Selway. Konietzko and Cifarelli moved back to Germany in 2007, while the rest of band stayed in the U.S. In addition to these core members, dozens of other musicians have worked with the group across its nineteen studio albums and two dozen singles, with sales totaling in excess of two million records worldwide.
Critics consider KMFDM to be one of the first bands to bring industrial music to mainstream audiences, though Konietzko refers to the band's music as "The Ultra-Heavy Beat". The band incorporates heavy metal guitar riffs, electronic music, samples, and both male and female vocals in its music, which encompasses a variety of styles including industrial rock and electronic body music (EBM). The band is fiercely political, with many of its lyrics taking stands against violence, war, and oppression. KMFDM normally tours at least once after every major release, and band members are known for their accessibility to and interaction with fans, both online and at concerts. Members, singly or working together and with other musicians, have recorded under many other names, primarily Watts' PIG, Konietzko's Excessive Force, and Esch and Schulz's Slick Idiot.

somethin you call love but confess
you been messin where you shouldnt have messin
and now someone else is gettin all your best
well these boots are made for walkin
and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you!
oy (x4)
you keep lying when you ought to be truthin
you keep losin when you oughta not bet
you keep savin when you oughta be changin
now whats right is right, and you ain't been right yet
well these boots are made for walkin
and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you!
you keep playing where you shouldnt be playing
and you keep thinking that you'll never get burned
HA!
well i just found me a brand new box of matches, Yeah!
and what he knows, you ain't had time to learn
these boots are made for walkin
and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you!
oy! (x12)
these boots are made for walkin
and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you!
The lyrics of "These Boots are Made for Walkin'" by KMFDM, originally written and performed by Nancy Sinatra, are about a woman who has had enough of her cheating partner and is ready to leave him. The song starts with the man trying to win her back, insisting he has something for her, something called love, but she knows he's been unfaithful and someone else is getting the best of him. She then tells him that her boots are made for walking, implying that she's going to use them to move on and escape from him.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "these boots are made for walkin'," emphasizing her determination to leave the unfaithful man behind. The second verse highlights his dishonesty and tendency to take risks, gambling and not changing his ways. The lyrics suggest that what's right is right, but he's not behaving properly. The final verse suggests that the woman has found someone new, and the man has yet to learn what her new partner knows.
Overall, "These Boots are Made for Walkin'" is a strong feminist anthem that encourages women to stand up for themselves and not tolerate unfaithful and dishonest behavior from their partners. It's a catchy, upbeat song that empowers women to take control of their lives and walk away from toxic relationships.

I remember when this first came out, after the band had been broken up a few years. It was gloriously cheesy, just what we loved about ol' KMFDM. Brings me back to cruising in a beat up Camaro.
