The group's earliest incarnation included German drummer En Esch and British vocalist Raymond Watts, the latter of whom left and rejoined the group several times over its history. The trio recorded the band's earliest albums in Germany before Konietzko and Esch moved to the United States, where they found much greater success with seminal industrial record label Wax Trax!. German guitarist Günter Schulz joined in 1990; both he and Esch continued with the band until KMFDM broke up in 1999. Konietzko resurrected KMFDM in 2002 (Esch and Schulz declined to rejoin) on Metropolis Records, and by 2005 he had assembled a consistent line-up that included American singer Lucia Cifarelli, British guitarists Jules Hodgson and Steve White, and British drummer Andy Selway. Konietzko and Cifarelli moved back to Germany in 2007, while the rest of band stayed in the U.S. In addition to these core members, dozens of other musicians have worked with the group across its nineteen studio albums and two dozen singles, with sales totaling in excess of two million records worldwide.
Critics consider KMFDM to be one of the first bands to bring industrial music to mainstream audiences, though Konietzko refers to the band's music as "The Ultra-Heavy Beat". The band incorporates heavy metal guitar riffs, electronic music, samples, and both male and female vocals in its music, which encompasses a variety of styles including industrial rock and electronic body music (EBM). The band is fiercely political, with many of its lyrics taking stands against violence, war, and oppression. KMFDM normally tours at least once after every major release, and band members are known for their accessibility to and interaction with fans, both online and at concerts. Members, singly or working together and with other musicians, have recorded under many other names, primarily Watts' PIG, Konietzko's Excessive Force, and Esch and Schulz's Slick Idiot.

Waste
KMFDM Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
WHAT I DON'T LIKE I DON'T WANT
WHAT I DON'T WANT I WASTE
I HYPNOTIZE WITH ALIBIS AND FINGERS MADE OF LEAD
I SYMPATHIZE WITH FROZEN EYES TURNED INWARDS IN MY HEAD
I REALIZE TO MY DEMISE IT'S BETTER LEFT UNSAID
THAT COLUMNS CRASH DOWN ENDLESSLY AND I WILL END UP DEAD
I THEORIZE I'M ON THE RISE
BUT ALL I DO IS FALL
I VICTIMIZE MY LOVE OF LIFE
I'VE SEEN AND DONE IT ALL
READY STEADY STOP
HURRY UP AND WAIT
THE TICK-TICK-TICKING OF THE CLOCK
DELINEATES YOUR FATE
WHAT I DON'T SEE I DON'T KNOW
WHAT I DON'T KNOW I DON'T WANT
WHAT I DON'T WANT I DON'T NEED
WHAT I DON'T NEED I DON'T FEEL
WHAT I DON'T FEEL I DON'T SAY
WHAT I DON'T SAY I DON'T DO
WHAT I DON'T DO I DON'T LIKE
WHAT I DON'T LIKE I WASTE
READY STEADY GO
FINISH UP YOUR PLATE
BEFORE YOU EVEN REALIZE
IT'S GONNA BE TOO LATE
I DON'T KNOW WHAT I SEE
I DON'T WANT WHAT I KNOW
I DON'T NEED WHAT I WANT
I DON'T FEEL WHAT I NEED
I DON'T SAY WHAT I FEEL
I DON'T DO WHAT I SAY
I DON'T LIKE WHAT I DO
I JUST LIKE TO WASTE
The song "Waste" by KMFDM is an introspective examination of a person's destructive tendencies and self-sabotage. The first verse highlights the singer's self-awareness of their negative thought patterns and behavior, as they admit to disliking anything they don't know, don't like or don't want. This leads to a cycle of waste, as they become hypnotized by excuses and excuses, become numb to their own emotions and meet an endless downfall. Despite this realization, the singer can't help but theorize that they are "on the rise", even though they just keep falling. The chorus reinforces the theme of waste as the singer reflects on how their lack of action leads to missed opportunities and fated consequences.
The second verse further emphasizes the singer's self-victimization and cynical worldview as they confess to having "seen and done it all". The final verse circles back to the refrain of waste, but this time, the singer's repetition takes on a more frantic and desperate tone as they declare that they don't know what they're seeing or if they even want it. The song closes with the troubling statement that the singer simply likes to waste, implying a resigned acceptance of their self-sabotaging tendencies.
Overall, "Waste" is a thought-provoking examination of the human psyche, specifically the self-destructive tendencies that can come from negative thought cycles.

90s industrial music was/is absolutely amazing. I love the sound. It has a unique sound that you don't get nowadays. I miss and love the 90s. It's nostalgic to listen to music like this.
@illig4912
Not Industrial music but still love it

@Dustin Crawley Wikipedia lists it as industrial techno, industrial rock, industrial metal, and electro-industrial. If it’s not industrial then please enlighten me.

Man this album takes me back... Being in my last year of highschool in 1999, fucking with people with this script kiddie trojan thing called Sub7 that I put on all the computers at school, building shit from the anarchist cookbook and blowing it up in my backyard... Amazing times in the early history of the internet as we know it today. I'm glad I got to experience that at that age.
