The Rain
KOS Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Rain Rain
Rain Rain
Rain Rain
Rain Rain
The lyrics of KOS's "The Rain" can be interpreted as a somber reflection on the impermanence and fragility of life. The opening line, "someone is watching," suggests a sense of surveillance or scrutiny, perhaps implying that we are being judged or evaluated in some way. This is followed by the image of overlapping leaves in darkness, which may symbolize the complexity and confusion of our inner worlds.
The next line, "fading whispers, life disappears," continues this theme of fragility and impermanence. The rain that comes next is described as both secret and warm, implying a sense of comfort and solace in the midst of loss and sadness. The rain is also described as being for the sake of those who have disappeared, suggesting a reverence for the dead and a sense of duty to honor their memory.
The second verse continues this theme of loss and grief, with the lines "love, laughter, tears over small things" suggesting that even the little moments in life can be significant and worth cherishing. The mention of a blue letter that was written and torn apart suggests a sense of regret or unresolved feelings. The rain in this verse is described as unknown and unnoticed, implying that the singer's grief and sadness is not visible to others, or perhaps that they are too far away to see it.
