Your Eyes Will I Ever
KRIILL Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Ocean wide
More than what I could have had in mind
Steady we glance
Our sole defense
Would be to curl and close our eyes
The urge to breath
If I feel it
Then you must feel the same way
Noradrenaline
If I wait for you
Your heartâČs carried away
Then in my faith, I'll die alone
Pain flew by
Bye bye, watered down the drains
The bitter taste remains
WonâČt say it once
Nor do I want to hear it
Out from your mouth
And suddenly fail
Heavy my heart
Carries your weight
Above you everything remains
My eyes will I ever,
Your heart will I learn,
Stones drown feathers fly away
Heavy my heart
Heavy chains
You broke them free
I should have done the same
Your eyes will I ever
My heart will I learn
You're gone
The days decay
The urge to breath
Your heart's carried away
In this song, KRIILL sings about the passing of time and the complexities of love. The lyrics suggest a sense of tranquility and serenity being in the presence of the person he loves, described through the lines "Time by your side, Ocean wide, More than what I could have had in mind, Steady we glance, Our sole defense." However, the lyrics also suggest an underlying fear of loss and separation, as if he is aware of the temporary nature of things, represented in the line "You're gone, The days decay."
The second verse introduces the theme of pain and how it lingers even when time passes. The line "Won't say it once, Nor do I want to hear it, Out from your mouth" suggests that there is something unsaid or unacknowledged in their relationship, perhaps a fear of vulnerability or an inability to express their feelings. The last lines of the song, "Your eyes will I ever, My heart will I learn," encapsulate the sentiment of the entire song - a desire to understand and connect with the person he loves.
Overall, the song reflects on the bittersweet nature of love - the beauty and wonder of being with someone, but also the fear of losing them and the pain that can come with it. The lyrics convey these complex emotions in a poetic and introspective way, offering a glimpse into the artist's psyche.

However, the unpleasant taste is still lingering
Won't say it once
I will not say it even once
Nor do I want to hear it

Out from your mouth
Whatever you say
And suddenly fail
Will seem pointless and ineffective
Heavy my heart
My heart feels heavy
Carries your weight
Your problems feel like a burden on me
Above you everything remains
Everything around you is unchanged
My eyes will I ever,
Will I ever be able to see things clearly
Your heart will I learn,
Will I ever be able to understand your feelings
Stones drown feathers fly away
Things that are heavy sink, while light things fly away
Heavy my heart
My heart feels heavy
Heavy chains
I feel trapped and weighed down
You broke them free
You helped me get rid of those chains
I should have done the same
I should have helped myself earlier
Your eyes will I ever
Will I ever be able to understand what's in your eyes?
My heart will I learn
Will I learn to understand my own feelings?
You're gone
You are not here anymore
The days decay
Time passes and things change

the way i see it, the woman sees what she could be if she were free to explore the world on her own, but the man wants her to stay with him. he is content with the little things in life, symbolized by the small grasshoppers, whereas the woman has large dreams, symbolized by the huge butterflies. she thinks on it while seeing how free they are and starts to change from wanting the man to the life the butterflies are living, which is when she is in a cocoon. she realized she couldnât live the life she wanted if she were with him. she finally leaves and is free, and only after she was gone could he finally see her true potential.

The animation makes this a complete package... its like part of the song: the visual chords and beat. Wish you upload more animated videos in the future.

I might be wrong but so far it seems as though the woman was going through a metamorphosis, she was also going to become a butterfly. The grasshoppers wanting to leave must symbolize her own departure, and the man wanted her to stay with him, even though he knew what would happen. He saw how the woman wanted to be free like the other butterflies, and when she finally changed, he had to let her go.
@nicolasbmercon
I thought the grasshoppers symbolized a collection of troubles in the relationship that wasn't being solved (probably because it was everything okay for him, but not for her)
@elepapelashvili9553
I also interpreted grasshoppers as his phobia of her leaving! i absolutely love this music, music video and plot execution! it's perfect level of vague. As an animator, i aspire to this kind of an execution! bravo.

There's no right or wrong way to interpret it - it is whatever it is to you

Time passes and I still here completely absorbed in this song and animation... It's so beautiful, simple and has a evil feel in the background. I can't explain how much I love this! It's not only a song, it's a feeling.
