The band’s five members were all raised in different places before meeting and starting the band in 2006. Kate Cabebe was born and raised in Camarillo, California and began taking an interest in music as a child by taking lessons in the violin and mandolin. Cabebe began playing the drums by age 13. Katie Cecil, from North Carolina, started her venture off by acting in various roles on stage, television and film. Shelby Cobra, from Santa Clarita, California, started in music by auditioning and performing in musical theater at a young age. She began studying voice and performance at the age of 12. Sophia Melon was raised and took lesson to learn to play the bass guitar. Shae Padilla, who was raised in Lancaster, California, started playing and performing music at a young age when her brother took lessons to play the drums so he could accompany her.
The band formed in 2006 as an originally pop group. They got its start due to the band The Go-Go's taking an interest in wanting to mentor a “new all-girl teen rock band.” The band started off with four members and when they soon decided to move to a rock genre, fifth member Shelby Cobra joined the band.
KSM guest starred as Vagablond in the Take180 original series I <3 Vampires on September 11, 2009 and performed their song "Read Between The Lines" to promote their album with the same name.
The band worked with Matthew Gerrard and Robbie Nevil on their debut album. The album is set to be released on Sept 22nd and Sept 15th on iTunes only.
The band finished out a tour to promote their music as a special guest on select dates of Demi Lovato's Summer Tour 2009, then, a few months later, already in 2010, it was announced on their Facebook and MySpace pages that it was the end of the group.
Don't Come Crying To Me
KSM Lyrics

What's the matter? didn't she work out?
There was me and you, now it's someone new
If she's smart she's gonna figure out
You're into yourself, you and nobody else
You take up all of your time so
If it breaks your heart don't look for sympathy
You had your chance, please understand
I might forgive but I can't forget
So when she's gone and you're lonely
Don't come crying to me, no
Some people never learn till the tables turn
What's the matter? did she lead you on
Just like you did to me? Tough it's history
It's stuck in my head like an overplayed song
You're into yourself, you and nobody else
It happens every time, so
When she leaves you don't come crying to me
If it breaks your heart don't look for sympathy
You had your chance, please understand
I might forgive but I can't forget
So when she's gone and you're lonely
Don't come crying to me, no
I heard it before but not anymore
You've been there, done it too many times
You never change, it's always the same
Maybe one day she'll realize
You're into yourself, you and nobody else
I'm really not surprised, one, two, three, four
When she leaves you don't come crying to me
If it breaks your heart don't look for sympathy
You had your chance, please understand
I might forgive but I can't forget
So when she's gone and you're lonely
Don't come crying to me
Don't come crying when she walks away
Don't come crying, it's way too late
Don't come crying, I don't wanna know
Don't come crying when you end up all alone
Don't come crying to me, no
In KSM's song "Don't Come Crying To Me," the singer addresses an ex-partner who has moved on to someone new. The lyrics suggest that the ex-partner was self-absorbed in the relationship and didn't prioritize the singer. When the new relationship ends and the ex-partner is left alone, the singer warns them not to come back looking for sympathy or forgiveness. The singer emphasizes that the ex had their chance and if they didn't treat the singer well, they shouldn't expect to be welcomed back with open arms.
The lyrics suggest that the singer has moved on from the relationship, but is still holding a grudge against the ex-partner. They're not interested in entertaining the possibility of rekindling a romance. The chorus is particularly catchy and straightforward, emphasizing the singer's unwillingness to offer solace to the ex-partner.
This song is relatable to those who have been in a relationship where you gave everything, but the other person took it for granted. It's a powerful song about standing up for and valuing oneself in a relationship.
