To put on your shoes and get in your car
Put it in drive and point it this way
We don't have to talk
You don't have to stay
But I ain't got no one sleepin' with me
And you ain't got nowhere that you need to be
Maybe I love you
Maybe I'm just kind of bored
It is what it is
Till it ain't
Anymore
We've tried being apart
But the truth is
We are who we are
Were so much alike
It ain't a good thing
Too dumb to give up
Too stubborn to change
But I ain't got no one sleepin' with me
And you ain't got no where that you need to be
Maybe I love you
Maybe I'm just kind of bored
It is what it is
Till it ain't
Anymore
Till something better comes along
Till what ever we have is gone
But I ain't got no one sleepin' with me
And you ain't got nowhere that you need to be
Maybe I love you
Maybe I'm just kind of bored
It is what it is
Till it ain't
Anymore
Yea it is what it is
Till it ain't
Anymore
The song It Is What It Is by Kacey Musgraves seems to be about a couple who know they have issues and can't change who they are, but continue to be together because they enjoy each other's company. The lyrics reflect a level of acceptance that the couple has towards each other, acknowledging that they are too stubborn to change their ways. The first stanza of the song seems to be a conversation between the couple where one person is encouraging the other to come over without having to say anything or have a serious discussion. The following stanzas delve deeper into their relationship, acknowledging that they have tried being apart from each other, but realize that they are too similar and cannot stay away.
The chorus "It is what it is till it ain't anymore" is an assertion that the couple recognizes their shortcomings, but continue to stay together until something changes. This line showcases that the couple has reached a state where they understand why they are together and accepts that it might not be forever. Additionally, the last stanza reflects a sense of uncertainty that comes with any relationship, implying that they will continue to be together until something better comes along, or until their relationship reaches a point where there is nothing more to hold on to.
Overall, It Is What It Is by Kacey Musgraves is a reflection of acceptance in relationships and understanding that people have flaws and can't change entirely. The song implies that, despite any shortcomings, a relationship can still flourish as long as both parties continue to enjoy each other's company.

I think were thinking to hard
We are overthinking things
To put on your shoes and get in your car
Let's just leave and get away
Put it in drive and point it this way
Let's go in this direction without a plan
We don't have to talk
We don't need to discuss anything
You don't have to stay
You have the option to leave if you want to
But I ain't got no one sleepin' with me
I'm lonely and I miss having someone with me
And you ain't got nowhere that you need to be
You don't have any pressing commitments or plans
Maybe I love you
I might have feelings for you
Maybe I'm just kind of bored
I might just be looking for something to do
It is what it is
We are just in the moment without trying to define it
Till it ain't
Until this changes
Anymore
Things might not be the same
We've tried being apart
We have attempted to distance ourselves from each other
But the truth is
The reality is
We are who we are
We cannot change who we are as individuals
Were so much alike
We have many similarities
It ain't a good thing
This might not be a positive attribute
Too dumb to give up
We are both unwilling to end things
Too stubborn to change
We are both unwilling to change ourselves
Till something better comes along
Until a better option presents itself
Till what ever we have is gone
Until our current situation ends
Yea it is what it is
This is simply the state of things
Till it ain't
Until something changes
Anymore
Things might become different or end altogether
