Empire
Kadinja Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Voices run Along the shores of the Aegean Sea
And the remaining temptation fights against death
That the Angels may sweep off, may crumple up as a veil
The hollow frame of this world that they take me down
Far from clarity
To build Empires I fight against the death The soul of man was
At length to find rest Because of flames The soul will go away
Try to reach love
In tune we don't belong to our own lifetime
How hard of dying is this world
Live
Now
Heal the light again
Make your own way to divine truth
Live
Now
Heal the light again
Live
Your burning convictions
Now
You can embrace the flames
Live
Now
Heal the light again
Now the gods must perish
Now the gods must perish
Along the shores of the Aegean Sea
Drawn to an inner feel

A light against the darkening sky
AMOREMSALOMAMOREM

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Kadinja's song "Empire" paint the picture of a battle between life and death, clarity and temptation, and man's struggle to find his place in the world. The song begins with a reference to the Aegean Sea, where voices run along the shore. It seems to suggest that the sea is a powerful force that is both beautiful and dangerous. The remaining temptation is fighting against death, but it seems that the angels are trying to crumple up the hollow frame of this world and take the singer far from clarity.

The lyrics then move on to talk about the soul of man finding rest in flames. It's as if the fire is a symbol of purification that allows the soul to finally find peace. The singer encourages us to try to reach love, even if it feels like we don't belong to our own lifetime. This can be interpreted as the idea that love is a timeless force that transcends our individual lives. Finally, the lyrics urge us to live now, heal the light again, and embrace our burning convictions, so that the gods of the old world can perish and make way for the new.

Listen to his work with Shob, you'll see that he's a Jazz/Funk drum master too ! (and you can still hear his metal influences, that's awesome)
