神風
Kagrra Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The song 神風 (Kamikaze) by Kagrra revolves around the idea of the destruction caused by fanaticism and selfishness. The opening lines express the belief that being deceived is better than deceiving others. The song then goes on to depict the hypocrisy and self-righteousness of people who laugh and make arguments for their own gain. The image of onlookers standing on the opposite side of a fire, wagering on its outcome, highlights the futility of belittling others' misfortunes. The singer then talks about how he's sickened by the anger that courses through his veins, leaving him feeling nauseous.

The chorus delivers a powerful message in the face of the world's present-day situation - that there's no going back as the damage is done, starting with the 'kamikaze' wind that destroyed cities during World War II. However, if there were a way that people would return to their past and start anew, then they would be willing to do so.

The bridge of the song calls for self-evaluation and introspection, advising listeners to look at their own feet first before preaching others, as they wallow in misery. The singer wonders what he wants from the world, as he stands at the mercy of his emotions.

The final lines wrap up the song by suggesting that if, someday, society does a full circle, they should all embrace the turmoil and engage in a kiai together.

This song is so cool and it's Nao singing after isshi, right?? 😆

@Phantomx129

+Yuuka Shinohara no that's still isshi lol! I agree I like this song

@kaeyuuka.shinohara

+Shua Kagura but it doesn't sound like isshi to me at all!! Are u sure?? There's this guy singing a sentence right after isshi in each verse.

@Phantomx129

where are you talking about? sounds exactly like him to me

@kaeyuuka.shinohara

+Shua Kagura It's at 0:21, 0:29, 0:36 and 0:44 at the front part. I'm very sure it's another guy's voice. lol.

@Phantomx129

well I always thought it was isshi since he did those parts in the live, but it sounds a small part of nao too. anyways, that's a separate track compared to the main track that's isshi's voice. singers sometimes do something like that which you can hear during maybe a chorus. just like chikai no tsukI!
