Never Give Up
Kahn Brothers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When the world seems cold
And the rain is on you
And no one round understands
When you're searching for something
That no one can tell you
And every one round thinks you're mad

Never give up
Never give up
Never give up on yourself
Never give up
Never give up
Never give up on yourself

They might take away your laugh,
Take away your life
Take away all that you have
They might hurt you with lies
Or hurt you with violence
But never can they hurt your self

So never give up
Never give up
Never give up on yourself
Never give up
Never give up
Never give up on yourself

Adoni x 4

Never give up
Never give up
Never give up on yourself
Never give up
Never give up
Never give up on yourself

I'll never give up
Never give up
Never give up on myself

Never give up...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Kahn Brothers' "Never Give Up" convey a message of resilience, self-belief, and hope amid adversity. The song starts with a scenario of emotional isolation and feeling misunderstood, where nobody can comprehend one's troubles, and the world appears cold and unwelcoming. In such a situation, the singer advises not to give up on oneself, despite the difficulties encountered. The lyrics suggest that inner strength and self-confidence can help one overcome the challenges that arise in life.

The concept of never giving up is emphasized throughout the song, as the singer acknowledges that there maybe those who try to strip people of their joy, their possessions, or their dignity, but nobody can take away their sense of self-worth or break their spirit entirely. It is worth fighting for oneself and not surrendering to the surrounding negativity. The call to action is repeated with an affirmation of one's commitment to the message, with the repeated refrain of "never give up" followed by a concluding chant of "Adoni," a Hebrew word meaning "my Lord."

Overall, the lyrics of "Never Give Up" inspire perseverance when faced with trials, and teach that it's important to hold onto self-belief during challenging times as it enables individuals to rise above it.

This is easily my favorite part of the entire show.

The fact only Cotton Hill could tell he was from Laos is like 5 jokes rolled into one.

Kenneth Sagers

This show dealt with complex characters based in the world better than other cartoon I think. I love when we get a question answered about Dale we didnt know we had in such a brilliant way. Someone is mentioned to be Jewish and he says in this neutral tone "there's nothing wrong with that in it of itself." The delivery is perfectly ambiguous. You could name whole type of prejudice after him because of how well it's summed up.

@Coconutszz It's rare enough that if I gave it to you and you looked it up you would get results with me basically immediately. Actually had that happen back when my last name was on my work uniform. Some dude looked it up, found me, proceeded to be a creepy creeper, then he got some very nice talkings to by some very gung ho MPs.

Coconutszz

@Missing Aria well whats your last name tho

And what are those 5 jokes? lmao

RabbitTV

100 fucking percent, this joke kills all other jokes that could be made.

Kahn is both impressed by cotton, and possibly shook knowing he learned the difference so he wouldn't stack the wrong bodies.

@Eric Ortega the same thing that was in it for that entire corner of the world Japan decided was theirs

@Eric Ortega Japan was attack French controlled Laos, and they really didn't put up a fight. Some were conscripted, but most Laotians were not very pro war. When Japan surrendered FDR was for a more self-determined Laos. Which meant free from control form another nation. I do not know if Laotians actually aided the U.S. in the war in any way. Though we did have Chinese and Korean forces at our disposal. As Japan had been on the offensive towards them. I mean going through history Japan always saw itself as the superior nation in the Eastern hemisphere.
