He is responsible for the soundtracks to the computer games Gothic, that was released in 2001, Gothic II (2002) and Gothic 3 (2006). His favourite instrument is the piano. He loves playing the piano since his parents bought him a keyboard when he was 7 years old. His nickname is 'KaiRo', at first sight the German word for Cairo (Egypt's capital...). But obviously 'Kai' is his first name and 'Ro' are the first two letters of his surname.

In my opinion; gothic is gothic and risen is risen. They have different atmospheres and quite different stories.
Saying that, I did not find Risen any less likeable than gothic.

I enjoy the feeling of Risen, and I notice that PB really gives heart into this series.

It's like the Fallout 3 menu theme, but with Planescape Torment kind of percussion. The kind of thing that would make me hyped to stare at some old bastard with a pensive expression.

Gothic 3 wasn't as good as first too, but I thought it was decent. I'm playing Risen now and it kinda reminds me of Gothic 1. :P

@wcdornez I thought it's connected to the titans you see in the opening movie. Maybe a titan left it there so stranded people get a clue what they're dealing with. :)

That is no Surprise; because Risen 1 was the only Attempt to re-create the old Glory of the Gothic-Games. Risen 2 was a laughing Stock in Terms to those - and therefore: Not bought by most Gothic- and Risen 1 Fan's. Sometimes, People "know" what they want. True Story ...

Risen 2 and Gothic 4 helped me realize that I shouldn't let other people's opinions about games affect me.being a gothic fan since 2001 I decided this year to try out arcania and I did it with caution because of all the negative feedback.I found out it was an amazing game worth playing and it really reminded me of the old gothic games.Same goes for risen 1 which I tried right afterwards.And then Risen 2 which had as much neg feedback as arcania and was still freaking amazing.
