Friend
Kaitlyn Lyrics

All those so called friends
Aren't friends anymore
I left all their baggage on the steps
Outside my door
They'll come and get it
I hope they will
Or they'll keep ghosting
So they don't have to feel
And all that "love you, mean it"
Was never meant
No, no no no
I'm sorry but I can't be a shallow friend
'Cause you don't know me
And you don't care to
'Cause you would show me
And that's the honest truth
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Oh ooh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Oh oh oh
Oh ooh oh whoo oh
And still all those so called friends
Aren't friends anymore
I left all their baggage on the steps
Outside my door
They'll come and get it
I hope they will

Or they'll keep ghosting
So they don't have to feel

Overall Meaning

In Kaitlyn's song "Friend," the singer expresses her frustration with her past friends who she no longer considers as friends. She reveals that their relationships were shallow and insincere, and that they never truly knew or cared about her. Kaitlyn describes leaving all their baggage on the steps outside her door, symbolizing how she is done with these fake relationships and ready to move forward.

The lyrics "And all that "love you, mean it" was never meant" further emphasize the insincerity of these so-called friends. Kaitlyn acknowledges that they used to say they loved each other, but it was just words without meaning. She declares that she can't continue to be a shallow friend and instead seeks genuine relationships where she is truly known and cared for.

Overall, "Friend" is a powerful anthem about the importance of genuine friendships and the value of cutting ties with fake relationships. Kaitlyn's vocals are emotional and raw, making the listener feel the weight of her experiences.

@anthonybegyn6123

Love it too but definitely, the title is innapropriate, the girl accept the guy for who he is, despite his weirdness, she doesn't care about his defaults, i know we can do a lot for friends but the way she describes him, the softness in the refrain made me thin she actually loves him, after all, soulmates can be both companions and friends, ironically, that song is played in A Cinderella Story when Austin & Sam have their first kiss.
