Kaize Adams Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I must ask myself today
I wonder if Jesus thinks
I've done my share
Will I wake in the morning
To find (oooh oooh)
Regrets up on my mind
Will I leave
So many questions
I must ask myself today
Or what will I leave behind
When life has passed my way
Section be
Will people remember
My name
Or forget me all the same
Will I leave
A trace of Jesus somewhere
Have I been a light
In dark places
Brought a smile
To sad faces (sad faces)
Have I shown the world
That I really care
Have I lived
My life the way
He wants me to
Each and everyday
(each and everyday)
When someone stumbled
Was I there
Repeat Section be
So many questions
I must ask myself today
So many questions
I must ask myself today
The lyrics to Kaize Adams's song "Questions" express an introspective and reflective tone as the singer contemplates the legacy they will leave behind. The song is structured around a series of questions that the singer must ask themselves about how they have lived their life and whether they have lived up to their expectations. The opening lines reflect a concern for how they will be judged by Jesus, and whether they have done enough to fulfill their purpose. The singer then wonders about their impact on others, whether they will be remembered or forgotten, and whether they have left a positive influence on the world.
The chorus, "So many questions I must ask myself today," reinforces the idea that self-reflection is an ongoing and necessary process. The second verse delves deeper into the specific actions and attitudes the singer hopes they have embodied. They hope they have brought light to dark places, brought joy to sad faces, and shown that they truly care about others. The final lines of the verse return to the idea of living a life in accordance with Jesus's teachings, being there for others when they stumble or need help. The repetition of the chorus at the end of the song underscores the importance of continuing to ask oneself these questions throughout life.
