I'm the hook
That you're looking for
If you're looking
For the single one
You can feel
What I got
I'm everything you need
You need, you need
You might not see it now
But one day you're gonna come around
I'm the hit
I'm the hook
That you're looking for
I'm the one
I'm the love
That you can't ignore
I'm the single one
I'm the single one
If you're getting tired
Of the same old lines so am I (so am I)
We try so hard
But they're all the same
The same, the same
You might not see it now
You're gonna come around
I'm the hit
I'm the hook
That you're looking for
I'm the one
I'm the love
That you can't ignore
I'm the single one
I'm the single one
You're gonna come around
I'm the hit
I'm the hook
That you're looking for
I'm the one
I'm the love
That you can't ignore
I'm the single one
I'm the single one
I'm the hit
I'm the hook
That you're looking for
I'm the one
I'm the love
That you can't ignore
I'm the single one
I'm the single one
In "Single," Kalan Porter sings about his confidence in being the one that someone needs. He repeatedly refers to himself as "the hit" and "the hook" that someone is looking for in a potential partner. Porter understands the frustration that can come from feeling like everyone has the same unoriginal lines and promises, but he assures the listener that he is worth the time and attention because he is different. He knows that the person he is singing to may not see it yet, but he confidently declares that they will eventually come around and recognize him as the right choice.
