Thancred's drastic development from the end of ARR to EW is the primary reason on why his character is so well written in the first place. He's not like Y'shtola who remains a static character throughout the expansions, so you're taking that experience away from newer players by going into detail on how he's changed.

Fell in love with this track since starting out in June of last year . Thancred to me is super special by virtue of how he has been stalwart and brotherly to not only our WoL but to Minfillia of course . Doubly so because he's also the first to formally welcome the original Meteor Survivors in 1.0 as well as Yshtola for the Limsa intro . With that said I will always be thankful that we still get to journey with these two in hand , knowing how far they've both come from 2010 till now .

@Stand up to the Comment Section 1.0 was pretty bad. The vastness of the world, the music, the atmosphere, diversity and kindness of people were absolutely redeeming factors.
Ever since the server divisions segregated most of my international friends I have found difficulty making new friends, since many are now overly committed, rude or unreliable.
Haven't been online there since early Heavensward.

To be fair, it WASN'T too good to be the night theme for Thanalan because Thanalan (and the game in general) was a lot more beautiful. So much so that simply exploring the areas of Thanalan that it played in while this music was going on was a treat in and of itself.

1.0 had larger maps, better music and ... well that's about it.

I remember running through Coerthas and Mor Donah as a lv 6 Archer, mapping the world, dodging lv 40+ agro's, only to be slain by a lv 80 agro while staring in awe at Midgardsormr's corpse.

There wasn't really much else to do back then. Oh plenty of long gone friends being separated by server divisions. All for the better I hope.

@Stop Misandry and Gynocentrism Combat was awful.... Worse than FFXI, Yoshida tried to salvage, but it would only appeal to a niche group. Even then, the graphics engine was not meant to be used for an MMO. It barely ran on PS3 for FFXIII. FFXIV now appeals worldwide and much more well optimized for anyone hopping on the game.

@@RohlenFalwethYT I disagree. The combat was better in 1.23b patch than what we have now. You could chain attacks together with your party members which would cause damage to portions of the bodies of monsters you would fight until they eventually broke. Potentially damaging them and limiting the use of special abilities. The combat in 2.0+ it so simplified that it is dumb.
The biggest gripes I had with 1.0 was how everything operated through menus and the crafting system was bubkis. Other than that, I feel like 1.23b was a big step forward but 2.0 was a massive leap back.

@@oblivionben It would still appeal to a very small niche group, not to the masses. Basically all parties would just be THM/BLK or BRD/THM parties. Cross-class skills clogged up a lot of your hotbars. No one played any of the other classes. It didn't have a lot of order, and "metas" were rampant. Might as well say goodbye to the MNK, PLD, DRG. The battle system wasn't future-proof. Still too many flaws to carry the game.

I came back to play FF14 reborn I played it during 1.0 and when I replayed this game I was like where the hell is that cool song... I go to lv 70 I was like hmm... I never saw the old cool song.. This song is one of the reasons I started playing again and was no where to be found.. :( Good to finally have found the OST!
