And see myself
If I touch my skin
I'm touching you
All the tears in your eyes are like water to me
When I cry my eyes dry up instantly
When you talk - feel your breath - that's the air that I breathe
Can you?
Just look deep in my eyes and tell me what you see
I'm desperate to hold you, so eager to kiss you
So far from my skin and yet I'm feeling you here
Reflecting in you and you're reflected in me
I move my lips
And I spell Love
If I touch my skin
I'm touching you
All the tears in your eyes are like water to me
When I cry my eyes dry up instantly
When you talk feel your breath that's the air that I breathe
Just look deep in my eyes and tell me what you see
I'm desperate to hold you, so eager to kiss you
So far from my skin and yet I'mfeeling you here
Reflecting in you... Reflecting...
Just reach into my skin and tell me what you feel
I'm desperate to hold you, so eager to kiss you
So far from my eyes and yet I'm seeing you here
Reflecting in you and you're reflected in me
The lyrics of Kandia's song "Reflections" convey a deep sense of connection and intimacy between two individuals. The song describes the intense emotional bond between the singer and the person she is addressing, suggesting a kind of spiritual closeness that transcends physical distance. The opening lines establish this sense of oneness, with the singer stating that she sees herself when she looks at the other person, and that their touch is one and the same.
The lyrics further explore the idea of emotional connection by drawing parallels between different experiences. The tears in the other person's eyes are compared to water that feeds the singer's emotional needs, while the singer's tears seem to evaporate instantly. Similarly, the other person's breath is described as the air that the singer breathes. These comparisons emphasize the singer's dependence on the other person for emotional sustenance, and the intensity of the bond between them.
The chorus of the song expresses the singer's desire to physically connect with the other person, to hold and kiss them. But even when they are physically apart, the singer feels the other person's presence. The title of the song, "Reflections", suggests that the two individuals are mirror images of each other, reflecting and amplifying each other's emotions.
Overall, the lyrics of "Reflections" communicate the deep emotional bond that can develop between two people. The song suggests that physical distance is not a barrier to this connection, and that even when apart, the two individuals are intimately linked.
