I'm Ready
Kano Lyrics

Not knowing what to do
You woke us up at dawn
As to dance in outerspace
Coming, coming, I'm coming down to you
Coming, coming, and are you ready?
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Yes I am
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Yes I am
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Move Me Disco
You told us to move up
And computers here to stay
No workers at the beat
Just a dancer on the stage
Coming, coming, I'm coming down to you
Coming, coming, and are you ready?
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Yes I am
I'm Ready, I'm Ready,
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Yes I am
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Move Me Disco
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Yes I am
I'm Ready, I'm Ready,
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Yes I am
I'm Ready, I'm Ready, Move Me Disco
The lyrics of "I'm Ready" by Kano are an ode to the disco era and the futuristic themes that the genre often explored. The song speaks to the arrival of a group of people, possibly aliens, who have arrived on Earth and are getting ready to party. They are not sure what to do but are awakened by the call to dance in outerspace. The singer of the song expresses their readiness to party and asks if the listener is ready as well.
The line, "You told us to move up and computers here to stay," hints at the idea of a technologically advanced society that has replaced the traditional workforce with computers. The idea is further reinforced by the phrase, "No workers at the beat, just a dancer on the stage." This could be a commentary on how society has become more automated, with machines and technology taking over more and more roles that were once performed by human beings.
The overall tone of the song is upbeat and celebratory. The repetition of the phrase "I'm ready" reflects the excitement and anticipation of the partygoers. The line, "Move Me Disco," adds to the sense of movement and energy in the song. Overall, "I'm Ready" is a fun and danceable song that captures the spirit of disco while also exploring themes of technological progress and cultural change.

I'm 22, and my mom has been playing this song as long as I can remember. I grew up on this stuff. How can you not love it? My generation puts out nothing close to this. The breakdown at 4:03 gets me up every time (if I'm not already up). To all you 40+ :keep dancing :)
