Kany García is born to a Spaniard father and Puerto Rican mother. García's father, Antonio, who gave up the priesthood when he met Shela, Encarnita García de Jesús, or Kany, grew up in a house where music was not only played, but also lived. The youngest of three children (Marishela and José Antonio, who is a lead cello player at the Sinfónica de Puerto Rico), Kany started learning classical music when she was just a child, studying cello, theory, solfeggio and chorus. At 13, she went to the Escuela Libre de Música, where the guitar would win her heart. This was followed by studies at Puerto Rico's Conservatorio de Música.
García known for being on the first season of Objetivo Fama, a singing talent contest held in Puerto Rico. During the show, Kany suffered a car accident, which forced her to abandon the competition. She was in intensive care for some time and managed to recover, although sensation in her left toe is limited.
After the accident, García turned into a much sought composer/songwriter. She wrote a song for Janina Irizarry's first album Todo De Mí. In 2006, García signed a recording contract with Sony BMG, releasing her debut album "Cualquier Día" (2007), which was a commercial success spawning four top 40 singles on the Billboard Latin Tracks. A year later, she released her second studio album, "Boleto De Entrada" (2009), which peaked within the top five of the Billboard Latin albums chart, and produced her first US Top 20 hit single, "Feliz" on Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. With great praise for her work, she was nominated for four Latin Grammy awards in 2008, and won Best Female Pop Vocal Album for "Cualquier Día" and Best New Artist.

Cuéntame tus razones cuéntame
Que sin subirte aún a este tren
Pues tu sabes la ruta y dices no
No, no, no, no
Y aquellas que tienen todo lo que deseabas
Porque será que aunque lo intentas siempre acaba
Quizá ya debas de buscar algo que no sea tan ideal
Eres tú
El que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu
Quien me dijo no primero
Sin tratar
Sin pensarlo, sin dejarse, tan solo intentarlo
Eres tú
El que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu
Quien me dijo no primero
Tu- uh! Uh!
Esperando algo perfecto algo irreal
Mírate
Mira el camino que te espera mírate
Pensando que un día llegará aquella mujer
Con esa personalidad que tanto anhelas
No, no, no
Y aquellas que tienen todo lo que deseabas
Porque será que aunque lo intentas siempre acaba
Quizá ya debas de buscar algo que no sea tan ideal.
Eres tú
El que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu
Quien me dijo no primero
Sin tratar
Sin pensarlo, sin dejarse, tan solo intentarlo
Eres tú el
Que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu
Quien me dijo no primero
Tu- uh! Uh!
Esperando algo perfecto algo irreal
Yo pienso
Que tú llevas adentro
Miedo
Y nada está a tu alcance
Y siento
Que solito te quedas
Si no avanzas en esta carrera
Eres tu
El que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu
Quien me dijo no primero
Sin tratar
Sin pensarlo, sin dejarse, tan solo intentarlo
(Puente)
Eres tú
El que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu
Quien me dijo no primero
Sin tratar
Sin pensarlo, sin dejarse, tan solo intentarlo
Eres tú
El que pierde en ese duelo
Eres tu

Tu- uh! Uh!
Esperando algo perfecto
Tu- uh! Uh!
Esperando algo perfecto algo ideal
In Kany García's song "Eres Tú", she is urging someone who is hesitant to take risks in love and to settle for something less than ideal to take a chance and go for what they want. She asks them to tell her their reasons for holding back and not taking a chance on love. Perhaps they are waiting for something perfect or unreal, but García urges them to look at what they have and not let their fears prevent them from moving forward.
She speaks to their feelings of inadequacy and tells them that nobody is perfect, that they may be waiting for something that will never come, and that they must not be afraid. She encourages them to try, even if they fail, and that they are the ones who will ultimately lose if they don't take a chance on love. The song builds to a powerful crescendo, encouraging the listener to take risks and embrace the imperfect moments of life.
