Kany García is born to a Spaniard father and Puerto Rican mother. García's father, Antonio, who gave up the priesthood when he met Shela, Encarnita García de Jesús, or Kany, grew up in a house where music was not only played, but also lived. The youngest of three children (Marishela and José Antonio, who is a lead cello player at the Sinfónica de Puerto Rico), Kany started learning classical music when she was just a child, studying cello, theory, solfeggio and chorus. At 13, she went to the Escuela Libre de Música, where the guitar would win her heart. This was followed by studies at Puerto Rico's Conservatorio de Música.
García known for being on the first season of Objetivo Fama, a singing talent contest held in Puerto Rico. During the show, Kany suffered a car accident, which forced her to abandon the competition. She was in intensive care for some time and managed to recover, although sensation in her left toe is limited.
After the accident, García turned into a much sought composer/songwriter. She wrote a song for Janina Irizarry's first album Todo De Mí. In 2006, García signed a recording contract with Sony BMG, releasing her debut album "Cualquier Día" (2007), which was a commercial success spawning four top 40 singles on the Billboard Latin Tracks. A year later, she released her second studio album, "Boleto De Entrada" (2009), which peaked within the top five of the Billboard Latin albums chart, and produced her first US Top 20 hit single, "Feliz" on Billboard Hot Latin Tracks. With great praise for her work, she was nominated for four Latin Grammy awards in 2008, and won Best Female Pop Vocal Album for "Cualquier Día" and Best New Artist.

Llevo dentro
A veces te sueño y vuelo contigo a algún
Paraíso que tu y yo escogimos
A veces me miro y debo frenarme
The lyrics of Kany García's song "Hasta Dónde" speak of a transformation that occurs in someone's life when they encounter a new love. The singer reflects on how their day-to-day life used to be calculated and measured, devoid of joy and genuine expressions of love. However, the arrival of this new person changes everything within a short span of time.
The singer is unsure of how far to take this newfound love because no one can provide them with a guide. They question how long they can endure the silence, how long they can hold back from expressing their love, and how much they need to suppress their soul. They desire to reveal everything they have inside, but there is uncertainty and fear of going too far.
Sometimes, the singer dreams of flying with their loved one to a paradise they had chosen together before. However, they also realize they need to hold themselves back because their soul is burning so intensely. They must surrender slowly, guarding themselves bit by bit, which they find ironic.
Despite their doubts and insecurities, the singer walks on a cloud of happiness. Even though they occasionally turn their back, it is not to push their loved one away, but rather to see if their loved one will embrace them.
Overall, the song portrays a person who has encountered a transformative love, but is unsure of how far to go or how much to reveal. There is a longing to free themselves from silence and express their love, but also a fear of getting hurt or going too fast. It delves into the complexities of navigating a new relationship and the challenges of opening up emotionally.

Dime tu hasta donde
Tell me, how far do you
