1) French rock band
Kaolin is a french rock band, with various musical influences but french lyrics. Their music style can be sometimes quite similar to post-rock and at other times a rageful power pop, always underlined by a fine melodic talent, which protects the band from a hasty and simplistic categorization.
Originating in Montlucon, they remain attached to their native Auvergne region and continue to rehearse in this city. Throughout their young career (2 EPs self-produced and 2 LPs), they were lucky to collaborate with Valentins, Paul Corkett (The Cure, Placebo) and Dave Fridmann (Mogwai, Flaming Lips, Weezer...).
Their new album is mainly sung in french, and contains a song inspired by "I want you" by Bob Dylan called "Partons vite", which is now a hit in France.
2) South African singer
The song "Stranger" is from the South African singer Kaolin Thompson.

Tu n'as rien à dire je reviens.
Tout est resté là à sa place, mais de mio plus aucune trace
Comme je suis parti, je reviens.
Pour le meilleur et le pire, je reviens.
Tu n'as rien à dire, je reviens.
C'est une surprise, tu m'inspires, je reviens.
Je reviens.
La la la la la ... je reviens.
Je reviens.
Juste pour le plaisir
Je reviens.

The lyrics of Kaolin's song "Je reviens" reflect a sense of determination and confidence in oneself. The singer directly addresses someone, perhaps a former lover or acquaintance, and declares that they are not the type of person to be messed with. The lines "J'aime autant te dire à l'oreille, je ne suis pas du genre qu'on emmerde" (I might as well tell you right now, I'm not the kind of person to be messed with) convey a sense of assertiveness and self-assurance.
As the song progresses, the singer talks about taking detours and getting lost, but eventually finding their way back to where they started. The repeated phrase "je reviens" (I'm coming back) reinforces this theme of returning to one's roots and finding a sense of stability and belonging.
The lyrics also touch on the idea of nostalgia and memory, with lines like "Tout est resté là à sa place, mais de moi plus aucune trace" (Everything stayed where it was, but there's no trace of me anymore) hinting at a longing for the past and a desire to reconnect with a former self.
Overall, the lyrics of "Je reviens" convey a sense of introspection and self-reflection, as well as a determination to move forward and reclaim a sense of self.
