Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Kaori Oda's song "Calling" express a sense of hope and aspiration for eternal love and the significance of cherishing the moments of joy and affection that come along in our lives. The first verse opens with the singer admiring the starry sky and singing out the melody of the infinite eternity of our limited existence. The lyrics portray the idea that even though we are confined to a certain time-frame, our memories and impact on others can live on forever. The lines "Mune ni afureru itoshisa no mizu wa /mirai no hate de dareka ni todoku darou" encapsulate the concept that the love we have in our hearts will reach someone, somewhere, someday, even after we're gone. The singer believes in the power of their voice and their singing to access that eternity of pure love and connection with others.

The second verse elaborates on the journey of growing and evoking our voices to transform into something more significant. The lyrics, "Haruka na toki wo kakenukete / Bokutachi no yobigoe wa itsuka ookina uta ni naru," suggest that our small voices can eventually grow to become a harmonic chorus of memorable songs that can echo in the world. The lyrics depict the transformation of our individual voices joining together with others to become something more impactful and meaningful.

The chorus of the song highlights the importance of living in the moment and the power of love to overcome the adversities of life. The lyrics, "Ai wo tsumuide yukeru yo / Ima wa mada konna ni chiisana hikari dakedo" reminds us to build connections with others through love and to cherish the small glimmers of hope and light that we encounter in our daily lives. The song acknowledges that life can be tough, but affirmatively states that love and connection make it worth living.

I wonder whether this song is a bit metaphor of the series of finding purpose in life.

When we live our daily lives we live under assumption that it would last forever that we are immortal. Like the immortals from the series. We don't have the idea that there is an end. This gives us similiar feeling of loneliness and melancholy. Being in one world forver without end. Like this sad, train rail going forever.

This is why we want to fill in this life with something like characters from baccano to fill in this "suppose" never ending life.

Firo, Maiza Ennis, Jacuzzi decided to fill it with loyalty to their friends

Issac and Maria decided to live very childish life having as much fun as possible.

Members of the daily days, Carol and Gustav decided to dedicate of expansion of knowledge and their curiosity of the world. Seeing world of limitless informations and interesting stories to gather, or tell.

Some decided in good way, some in bad way.....

others like Ladd and Szilard decided to find it in destruction, mayheam, greed and cruelty.
however, we still need to fill our "immortal" life with something. Even Llad and Szilard needed something that would give them a purpose to live.

Just like in Durarara, baccano presents that everybody needs some joy or happiness to fill in his life.
That's my interpretation ;)

both psychos like Izaya or Llad
and goog guys like Mikado and Masaomi wanted happiness in life and fill this "eternal" life with something.

Would reach someone at the edge of the future

Sinjite iru yo
I believe that

Harukana Toki wo Kakenukete
Run through far-off time

Bokutachi no Yobigoe ha Itsuka Ōkina Uta ni Naru
Oneday our calls will become a big song

Ai o Tsumuide Yukeru yo
We can go spinning a love stoty

Ima wa Mada Konnani Chiisana Hikari dakedo
Although it's still such a tiny light

Wakari au Yorokobi ni Karada goto Yakareta Yoru ni
In the night when burned with whole body by joy of understanding each other

Kagiri aru Nukumori no Eien o Hajimete Inotta
For the first time, I prayed for finite warmth to eternalize

Kimi no Tame ni Kitto Umarete Kita to
"Surely I was born for you"

Tada Koe no Kagiri ni Sakebi Tsuzuke tai
I just wanna keep screaming that as long as my voice goes

Yobiau Koe ga Toki o Koeru yōni
Like the voices calling to each other transcend the time

Furue teta Te o Toriatte
Took trembling hands each other

Nakushi taku nai to Omotte
Not wanna lose it

Bokura no Mune ni Hakanasa ga Itsuka Umarete ta
Someday transience came to being in our heart

Owari ni Obiete Naite
We were afraid of the end and cried

Owaranai Uta o Utatta
We sang infinite song

Mada Minai Chihei no hō e
Towards the unseen horizon

Kimi to Yukeru kara......
I can go with you......

Harukana Toki o Kakenukete
Run through far-off time

Bokutachi no Yobigoe ha Itsuka Ōkina Uta ni Naru
Oneday our calls will become a big song

Ai o Katatte Yukeru yo
We can go talking about love

Ima wa Mada Konna ni Chiisana Hikari dakedo
Although it's still such a tiny light

Harukana Toki o Kakenukete
Run through far-off time

Hoshizora Miagete Utau
Sing looking up at the starry sky

Ai o Tsumuide Yukeru yo
We can go spinning a love story

Eien o Yumemite iru
Dreaming of eternity

光の中
Hikari no Naka
In the light

@Isaiah Jay nah Durara is more known than Baccano, that's why most fans call it Old man's Baccano
