Karamelo Santo was born in Mendoza / Argentina in 1993 and ever since then developed their own unique musical style. They achieved to gather around them a fanatic crowd of fans from all over the world, ever more since they successfully toured in Europe with "Los Guachos" in 2002. This milestone marked the beginning of a long and deep relationship of the band with the “old continent”, that every year challenges the most established cultural barriers and has permitted them to become one of the best-known representatives of Latin American music in Europe
Los Guachos
Karamelo Santo Lyrics

Los tambores suenan más.
Porque los vecinos ya despertaron
A la muerte ya le ganaron
Es que a mi estos guachos, Luna
Me quitan las penas.
Pensando en vos,
Corazón partido la calle de tierra,
Lejos veo la luz...
Bola 'é fuego, sangre en el tambor
Marihuana, vino y amor...
Que sacan mi miseria, Señor
Deme... deme...
The lyrics of Karamelo Santo's song "Los Guachos" depict a scene in a neighborhood where the sound of drums is louder because the neighbors have won against death. The singer, thinking about someone, goes to the neighborhood where he sees the light from a distance on the street covered with split hearts. The song speaks about how the guachos, a group of people, help him forget his sorrows through marijuana, wine, and love, and how they relieve his misery. The chorus includes a plea for San Lazarito to protect the street.
The song is a powerful message against repression, laws that restrict freedom and penalize peaceful protests, and how the same laws protect criminals while punishing innocent people. Karamelo Santo is urging people to unite, to dance, to love, and to be protected by a saint, to resist repression and enjoy freedom, to win against death and to live life to the fullest.
