The news came to Jesus, please, come fast
Jesus received news that Lazarus was sick and in need of immediate help.

Lazarus is sick and without Your help he will not last
Lazarus is gravely ill and will not survive without Jesus' intervention.

Mary and Martha watched their brother die
Mary and Martha witnessed the death of their brother.

They waited for Jesus, He did not come
Despite waiting for Jesus, He did not arrive in time to save Lazarus.

And they wondered why
Mary and Martha questioned why Jesus did not come earlier.

The deathwatch was over, buried four days
Lazarus had already been buried for four days.

Somebody said, He'll soon be here, the Lord's on His way
There were rumors that Jesus was coming soon to the burial site.

Martha ran to Him and then she cried
Martha hurriedly approached Jesus and expressed her grief.

Lord, if you had been here, You could have healed him, he'd still be alive
Martha lamented that if Jesus had arrived earlier, He could have miraculously healed Lazarus and prevented his death.

But You're four days late and all hope is gone
Jesus' delayed arrival of four days has left them feeling hopeless.

Lord, we don't understand why You've waited so long
They expressed their confusion and lack of comprehension regarding Jesus' delayed response.

But His way is God's way, not yours or mine
They acknowledged that God's timing and actions are beyond human understanding.

And isn't it great, when He's four days late, He's still on time
They find solace in the fact that even though Jesus arrived four days late, His timing is perfect and He is still on time to perform a miracle.

Jesus said, Martha, show me the grave
Jesus requested Martha to lead Him to Lazarus' burial site.

But she said, Lord, You don't understand, He's been there four days
Martha insisted that Lazarus had been dead and buried for four days, making any resurrection seem impossible.

The gravestone was rolled back, then Jesus cried
Jesus commanded the removal of the gravestone covering Lazarus' tomb, and then He cried out.

Lazarus come forth, then somebody said, He's alive, he's alive
Jesus called Lazarus back to life, and witnesses rejoiced upon realizing that Lazarus was indeed alive.

You may be fighting a battle of fear
The listener may currently be struggling with intense fear or anxiety.

You've cried to the Lord, I need You now
The listener has fervently called upon the Lord for immediate help.

But He has not appeared
Despite the pleas, the Lord has not made His presence known.

Friend, don't be discouraged
