After successfully completing her studies in chemistry and audio media, she decided to go back to her real passion: singing. She started performing in the clubs of Yaoundé, Cameroun and became backing vocalist. Within the group Korongo Jam d’Erik Aliana, her stage presence and her exceptional voice are quickly noticed.
While in France for a residency ("Visa pour la création"), she worked under the artistic direction of François Kokelaere, who used to manage the National Ensemble of Guinean Percussions and Guinean band Wofa which has toured worldwide. This encounter gave birth to her solo show, where Kareyce Fotso sings while playing guitar and percussions.

The song So'a by Kareyce Fotso is sung in her native language, Bamileke, from Cameroon. The lyrics of the song express a feeling of nostalgia and a yearning to go back to their roots. The opening lines of the song, "Oh gue yô é, Gue yô dza gue yo é, Pô mre peu, gue yô é é é, Gue yô dza be gue koun é," can be translated to, "Oh how I miss it, what is happening to me, it hurts so much, how I miss it, my true home."
The song talks about how the singer feels disconnected from her roots and longs to return to her native land. The lines "Tieg zeu yeu mieu le yô Mieu le jieu gou be dza lé Neka tin you le léa oh oh" can be interpreted as a call to return home and reconnect with one's true self. The lyrics also mention the struggles of living away from home and the feelings of isolation that come with it.
Overall, the lyrics of So'a are powerful and heartfelt. They express the universal feeling of longing for one's roots and the struggle of finding one's place in the world. The song is a beautiful tribute to the power of home and the importance of staying connected to one's culture and heritage.
