Kari Rueslåtten is known for her excellent voice and songwriting skills. Kari Rueslåtten releases the single "Turn, Turn, Turn" May 2015, which will be followed by a new studio album in October 2015. This will be Kari Rueslåtten´s sixth studio album. In 2014, Kari Rueslåtten celebrated 20 years in music by releasing a Collection of songs from her entire music career.
Spindelsinn, her first official solo album came out in 1997 through Sony Norway, sung entirely in the Norwegian language making honour to the Norwegian folk music. For that she was nominated for best vocal artist in the Norwegian Grammy Awards as best female artist at the Norwegian Hit-Awards. The Following year the second release Mezmerized came out. A mellower album, with more personal lyrics in which she left the folk-acoustic style in favour of exploring more modern sounds. The singing style is reminiscent in some parts of Tori Amos mixed with her own style.
Tired of relying on producers to get the sounds she wanted for her songs, she decided to study production and went to London, England for a couple of years. After joining the Swedish label GMR Music Group Kari released a comeback album, the experimental Pilot which contains a lot of modern sounds. It bears some resemblance to Björk, but with the more passionate feel which has always characterized Kari's music. In January 2005, Other People's Stories was issued, showing a simpler side of her music but without losing the modern feel, quality and passion in her performance.
After a long break from music she returned to music with the acoustic and mellow album Time to Tell in 2014, released on the Swedish label Despotz Records.
She made her debut in a local rock-band in 1985, before she attended music school (classical singing) in 1987. She was a co-founder of the doom metal band The 3rd and the Mortal, and released two albums with them before she left the band in 1995. Tuomas Holopainen of Nightwish has said that the sound of Rueslåtten's voice in The 3rd and the Mortal was a big inspiration when he founded the, now famous, Finnish symphonic metal band. She also contributed on the black metal project Storm.
In 2014-2015, Kari Rueslåtten has toured Europe and Latin America together with Anneke van Giersbergen (ex The Gathering) and Liv Kristine (ex Theatre of Tragedy as The Sirens.
Kari Rueslåtten contributed on the Norwegian rock legend Åge Aleksandersen´s album "Sukker og salt" in 2014. She has also been featured in a handful of drum 'n' bass tracks by the Norwegian duo Rawthang. Her vocals of "Hør Min Sang" (Hear My Song) is also featured on a hardcore record, by Art of Fighters, called "Artwork". This track was included on Dutch Hardstyle DJ, The Prophet´s Dj Mix, "Hard 3"

winding down the path
knows the direction
it has been here before
I can feel it lay down to slumber
This time it will stay a while
Not even a straw of hope is spared
I have searched
through endless nights
with the bare moon
as my guiding light
to find someone
of my own kind
Am I doomed to walk my path in solitude
My blood freezes
red turns to black
this is dead
this is me
In earth
I find quietness
which I so long hath seeked
In Kari Rueslåtten's song "Dead", the artist delves into themes of loneliness, despair, and the search for belonging. The first few lines speak of an approaching emptiness that seems to know where it's going, suggesting that this feeling of loneliness is a familiar one to the singer. The next few lines describe a sense of resignation, as the singer feels that they have no hope left to cling to.
The second stanza further explores the singer's search for connection, describing how they have spent endless nights searching for someone like them, only to be left feeling doomed to walk their path alone. The final stanza speaks of acceptance, as the singer finds a sense of peace in death, finally finding the quietness they had sought for so long.
Overall, the song conveys a powerful message about the human experience of loneliness and the search for meaning and connection.

Voice is so beautiful - very operatic in this - but English accent not perfected yet. There's touches of 3rd and the Mortal in this even though its a solo effort. Can't make head nor tail though of that bass like instrument in at 3.00 then going into upper register at 3.21. But whatever it is - it's a disaster.
