1) Serbian 80s glam pop metal band Karizma was formed in Belgrade in 1985 and was named after Kiss song "Charisma" from their 1979 album Dynasty. 2) Bulgarian pop duo Karizma ("КариZма" or "Каризма" in Bulgarian) is a partnership of Galya (born and raised in Siberia) and Miroslav. Their first single, entitled "Рискувам да те имам", lead the group to phenomenal popularity - Karizma is the only Bulgarian act to receive 9 national awards in a year while nominated in 16 categories. The band released their first album "Еклисиаст Том I" in 2006.
Galya and Miro started singing together a piano bar named Opera. In the documentary КаriZma Retrospective Movie they said that they had decided to work together, because their voices matched each other. One of the first proposals for a name was 2Good4U, but Galya rejected it.
The beginning of the duet КариZма was in 1999. They worked for non-Bulgarian music companies, such as EMA, TOCO int. and others. Two years later the famous Bulgarian music composer Mitko Shterev helped them with their first single, Riskuvam da te imam (I risk to own you). Before the release of the single Kolko mi lipsvash ("How much I miss you") in 2002, KariZma worked with other performers, like Toni, Maria Ilieva, Santra, Spens, Ava, Irra, etc. This delayed the work on their debut album. Moreover, on March 13, 2006, Galya entered the VIP Brother 1 House, where she stayed for 18 days. Their next hits were Shte izbiagam li ot teb?("Will I run away from you?") (2003), Mr. Killer (2004), and Minavash prez men ("You pass through me") (2005).
In 2006 they released their long anticipated first album, Eklisiast. After that, Karizma break-up.
3)DJ/producer Karizma (aka Kris Klayton) began his musical career at age 13, djing for fashion shows and college parties. He later landed a radio show on college radio station WEAA playing hip hop in the US city of Baltimore, at the same time gigging at clubs and showing a preference for house music. He would often bump into DJ Spen and bug him for advice; fate had it that Spen and Karizma would work together at radio station V103. The two worked together on track E.B.W.2.R.T.W. for the first album of Spen's Jasper Street Company project.
Spen & Karizma (now with Basement Boys productions) went on to remix Everything But The Girl, Lenny Kravitz, Ann Nesby, Ron Carroll, Roy Ayers, Bob Sinclar, Kathy Brown and Ministers de la Funk, among many others. It was in these remixes that Karizma developed the "deepah dubs" and "deepah ones" moniker for his renditions.
Karizma recently struck out on his own and formed Kohesive Productions. His remixes, re-edits and productions are heard weekly at the "Sky Lounge" bar, his residency in Baltimore. Karizma Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Your touch pours like honey on my skin, smooth it lingers
You, the cure the cause
Of my blues
My only flaw
Your sea it can freezing, I thought I'd float
I sink deeper blue, by you I'm consumed
Swept away, what good is a beautiful day, I'm alone
And you, the cure and the cause
Of my blues
My only flaw
You keep needing, keep calling
The cure and the cause
You keep needing, keep calling
The cure and the cause
You keep needing, keep calling
Even from a shut door
You step from view
Can still see you, your shadow tells me more
Don't take your love away, your love away
And you, the cure and the cause
Of my blues
My only flaw
Don't take your love away, your love away
Cure me, cure me
Cure me, please cure me
The lyrics to Karizma's "On & On" describe a toxic and addictive relationship. The singer acknowledges that the other person gives them something sweet that they can easily fall for. Their touch is like honey on the skin, making it easy for them to become consumed by the other person. The other person is both the cure and the cause of the singer's blues, suggesting that they may bring temporary relief from emotional pain, but ultimately contribute to it.
The singer recognizes that the relationship can be freezing and that at times they are sinking deeper and deeper, yet they cannot help but continue to be consumed by it. They acknowledge that they are foolish for thinking that they won't get caught in the other person's downhill flow, but they still continue to be swept away by it. Despite being alone, the singer cannot seem to let go of the other person. They continue to keep calling and needing them, even when they are behind a shut door. The singer can still see their shadow, indicating that they are still a presence in their life.
Overall, the song portrays a cycle of addiction and pain in a relationship, where the other person is both the cure and the cause of the singer's troubles. The singer is caught in their downward spiral and cannot seem to let go of the other person, despite the negative impact on their life.
