The band consists of the members:
Kasper Eistrup (vocals & guitar)
Mads Tunebjerg (bass)
Asger Techau (drums)
Henrik Lindstrand (keyboards & guitar).
Their earlier albums were musically in the vein of Primus and Red Hot Chilli Peppers, but with their third full length album their style changed dramatically to be influenced by Jeff Buckley and Radiohead, a style often characterised by newcomers as in the same veins as Coldplay, however Kashmir has in Kasper Eistrup, an original text writer and singer, who can hardly be summarized as anything close to Chris Martin.
To this date, the band have released seven full length albums. Their latest, E.A.R. (2013). With the release of NBP, the band yet again changed direction musically to be inspired by artists such as Sonic Youth and other noise rockers.
It should be noted that there also was a Swiss band with the same name which was active between 1979 and 1982. Consisting of keyboarder Patrice Guenat and singer Henry Dubelly, they produced two albums that range between synthesizer pop and neo-progressive genres.
Another danish band in the 70s was also called Kashmir or more correctly "Jørgen Thomsen & Kashmir", but due to Spotify (Kashmir, Jørgen Thomsen tag) they will scrobble as Kashmir, despite being a backing band at least on the 1972 record they recorded:
Jørgen Thomsen was backed by prominent musicains in "Kashmir": Nils Tuxen (Savage Rose, Flemming Hansen (bass), Ken Gudman at drums and Carl Åge Isaksen on piano.
Kashmir - The Band (Urdu: کشمیر ـ دی بینڈ) is an alternative rock band from Karachi, Pakistan. It is the winning band of Pepsi Battle of the Bands Season 2 in 2017. The band consist of Bilal Ali (vocalist), Vais Khan (lead guitarist), Usman Siddiqui (bass guitarist), Shane J. Anthoney (drummer), Zair Zaki (rhythm guitarist), and Ali Raza (keyboardist).

now weighs a forest on your tongue
and all your virtues safely kept
in vaseline have slipped bygone.
Put it on the vast choir sings
let the Broncos run wild again
wipe it off that purgatory grin
Show me that it's easy
say that you are in need of me
don't talk of the costs
with a mouthful of wasps
time is up so let them all fly
up in the sky.
Yes, I was taught among your kind
by drilling tunnels towards the core
in through the multi detailed mind
where rich and simple is at war.
Put it on the vast choir sings
let the Broncos run wild again
wipe it off that diabolic grin
'cause it's so contrived
and it frightens me.
Show me that you're easy
say that you believe in me
don't act out your frost
with a mouthful of wasps
time is up so them all fly
up in the sky.
Behind those weary eyes
some broken story hides
I need to know
and you have to show
before it strikes its roots and strangles everything.
The song "Mouthful of Wasps" by Kashmir starts with a metaphorical representation of the burden of unsaid things. The weight of the things that should be said has become an unmanageable forest that hangs heavy on the singer's tongue. The virtues that were once important have been forgotten and slipped away. The intention is to encourage the person referred to in the song to speak out and let everything be said, so the burden can be lifted off their shoulders.
The next passage paints a picture of the person's reluctance to speak up or show vulnerability due to past experiences of being hurt. It's suggested that they are suppressing some pain or struggle behind a facade of false confidence. The singer urges them to let go of that facade and let the true feelings show. Don't be bogged down by the costs or potential consequences but speak up against adversity. With a mouthful of wasps, time is running out, and the right moment may slip by in a fleeting instant unnoticed.
The final verse of the song speaks directly about the person and their struggles. The singer says the person's eyes show signs of weariness, and a broken story hides behind them. The singer needs to know the whole story before it strikes roots and strangles everything. The song ends with a plea to the person to share their story, and in doing so, the burden of unsaid things will be lifted.
