Prior to being a recording artist, he was a record store owner and a club DJ at a nightclub in Salt Lake City as a way to make ends meet for him and his wife. After he and his wife moved to San Francisco he landed a job as a A&R man at OM records, where in addition to reviewing demos for the label he also submitted his own material, which would pay off big time for him. In 2001 he went from behind the desk to behind the turntables and the recording studio as an artist in his own right. In 2003 Kaskade released his first album, "It's You It's Me", which was well received by critics.
It would be his follow up, "In The Moment" in 2004, that would put Kaskade on the map. The first single off the set "Steppin' Out" would become a major hit on the Dance Radio Airplay that year as well as a top 10 hit on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart. His biggest breakthrough would come the week of May 14, 2005, when his follow up, "Everything," would go all the way to #1 on the Hot Dance Music/Club Play chart.
What I Say
Kaskade Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I just won't be denied
If you don't understand me
Then take it outside
Love is only a feeling
It sure cant hear the pain
Step on in to my groove where we all are the same
That's what I say
The opening lines of Kaskade's song "What I Say" emphasize the strength and depth of love. The lyrics convey that the feeling of love is so powerful that it cannot be denied. The next line, "If you don't understand me, then take it outside," suggests that the singer is confident in their feelings and not willing to engage in any debate or argument about the authenticity of their emotions.
The following lines, "Love is only a feeling / It sure can't hear the pain" highlight the contrast between the emotional highs of love and the emotional lows that one may experience. Although love may not be able to lessen or erase the pain, it can certainly provide comfort and hope during difficult times. The final lines, "Step on in to my groove where we all are the same / That's what I say" suggest that regardless of background, gender, or race, everyone can bond over shared experiences and emotions.

Kaskade's new stuff isn't bad but his older stuff definitely takes the cake. Deep House FTW.

Give the artist some Respect they deserve to have their moment in Spotlight.... The hardest part is making music like this first and then keeping the talent after they go big. So farr it looks like Kaskade is still relevant. The dude deserves some respect.
