The song "Vadelmavene" by Kasmir describes the desire to escape from the monotony of city life and find peace on the beautiful waters of Hanko, a coastal town in Finland. The singer longs for a cold beer but is unable to have one, feeling trapped by the city and its demands. The only necessary items are a boat and gasoline to make the trip, but the singer wishes for oars to row with in order to truly be removed from the noise of the city. In his imagination, he envisions himself as Jacques Cousteau, the famous ocean explorer, hoisting his flag above the raspberry-colored boat and setting sail for Hanko.
While working in a sweaty kitchen and being under the control of a demanding boss, the singer daydreams of the blue sky overhead, but never has the opportunity to enjoy it. He closes his eyes, and in his mind, he creates a ship for both himself and his love interest to sail into the unknown with. The chorus repeats a fantasy of sailing away from Helsinki towards the sweet waters that lead to Hanko. The song ends with the singer finally enjoying the simple pleasures of the beach at Hanko, putting his toes in the sand and watching as the waves roll in.
