Katastrophy Wife currently consists of Kat on vocals and guitar and her boyfriend Adrian Johnson on drums. It has sometimes gone under the name of Bjelland's old band Babes in Toyland, but after facing legal problems with former band members, they are exclusively known as Katastrophy Wife.

Kat is currently writing new songs in her basement at her home in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

In 2007, Bjelland was diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent a year in an institution receiving treatment. As of 2010, Katastrophy Wife has yet to release further material.
