Sail
Kate Rogers Lyrics

keep going round inside my head
I'm gonna save my soul
before things get impossible
I should have seen the signs
they were right before my eyes
He could have saved my soul
I think the sun sailed away
not like those before
I'm just another body washed up on the shore
the curse on my bones
he made a pact rum(?) on the storms
he could have saved my soul
he could have saved my soul
Take me in your arms
Take me in your arms
Do you recall the time
I think you just must have lost your mind
Affected by the sun
Another heaven's lined up(?) as we made our run
lets stay in the lanes
And I can barely feel the pain
I love you so much more
I love you so much more
Take my in your arms
Take me in your arms
It's all done by the painfull sky
denims hung out to dry
how many hours to go
before the next I say self...
sandstorm remains
I see your angels cross the plane
they never save my soul
they never save my soul
pactrum on the storms
save my soul
In "Sail", Kate Rogers is expressing her desire to save her soul before things become too difficult for her. She is aware of the signs that are right in front of her eyes, but she's still struggling to save herself. The first verse of the song indicates that she has been plagued by these thoughts for some time now, as they keep going round inside her head.
The second verse carries on the same message; Rogers is falling over, and the sun has sailed away from her. She feels like another body washed up on the shore, as though she has been left behind by everything and everyone. She blames it on the pactrum (or perhaps "patron") on the storms, which could have saved her soul.
The chorus, repeated twice, has Rogers asking to be taken in the arms of the person she's addressing. This person might be the one who could have saved her soul, but she isn't sure.
The third verse of the song suggests that Rogers is thinking about the past, and how things have changed since then. She recalls a time when the person she's addressing may have lost their mind, and how they were affected by the sun. She suggests that they need to "stay in the lanes" and avoid feeling the pain that may be ahead of them.
In the final verse of the song, Rogers refers to a "painful sky", and suggests that she sees angels crossing the plane. Despite this, she still feels abandoned, as no one has saved her soul.
