She is also the first female artist to win two consecutive Classical BRIT Awards: her second album, Second Nature, reached number 16 in the UK pop charts and was Album of the Year in the 2005 BRIT Awards.
On Sunday 25th November 2007, Katherine Jenkins' new album 'Rejoice' entered the 'Official UK Album Chart' at number 3. Katherine beat off stiff competition from the likes of Girls Aloud, Led Zeppelin, Spice Girls, Take That and Celine Dion.
Carrickfergus
Katherine Jenkins Lyrics

Where the castle looks out to sea
I would swim over the deepest ocean
For my love to be with me
But the sea is wide and I can't swim over
Nor have I the wings to fly
I wish I had a handsome boatman
I wish I was in the land of Eire
Where the mountains reach the sea
Where flowers blossom as I do remember
Where my true love came to me
But the sea is wide and I can't swim over
Nor have I the wings to fly
Oh, to be home now in Carrickfergus
To be together, my love and I, my love and I
In Katherine Jenkins's song Carrickfergus, the singer expresses her strong desire to be reunited with her loved one, even if it means having to cross the ocean. She begins by wishing she was in Carrickfergus, where the castle looks out to sea. The castle represents a beacon of hope, a reminder that love is worth fighting for, despite the challenges ahead. The singer then goes on to say that she would swim over the deepest ocean for her love to be with her. This is a clear indication of how much she longs to be with her loved one, even if it seems impossible.
However, she acknowledges that the sea is wide and she can't swim over it, nor does she have the wings to fly. This alludes to the fact that the singer is trapped, constrained by the limitations of her circumstances. Despite her desire to be with her loved one, she is unable to cross the ocean that separates them. She yearns for a handsome boatman who can ferry her over and unite her with her love.
The singer then shifts her focus to the land of Eire, where the mountains reach the sea, and the flowers blossom as she remembers. She longs to be back in this place, where her true love came to her. However, she once again acknowledges that the sea is wide, and she is unable to cross it. She wishes to be home in Carrickfergus, where she can finally be together with her love.
Overall, this song is a powerful expression of the longing and desire of the human heart to be reunited with the ones we love. Despite the challenges and obstacles that might come our way, we still hold onto the hope that one day we will be able to be with our loved ones, and this hope keeps us going.
