That lived within the heart of me
All too soon my secret love
Became impatient to be free
So I told a friendly star
The way that dreamers often do
Just how wonderful you are
Now I shout it from the highest hills
Even told the golden daffodils
At last my heart's an open door
And my secret love's no secret anymore
Now I shout it from the highest hills
Even told the golden daffodils
At last my heart's an open door
And my secret love's no secret anymore
The song Secret Love by Katherine Jenkins speaks about a love that was kept hidden for quite some time, but now the singer is shouting it out from the highest hills. The lyrics suggest that the singer was cautious about putting their feelings for their secret love out in the open world, but eventually confided in a friendly "star" about this love. With time, this love became restless and eager to be revealed to the world. So, the singer expressed how wonderful their secret love was and why they were in love with them. And finally, after keeping the love a secret for so long, the singer expresses how their heart is an open door, and their secret love is no more a secret.
The song is written in a lyrical and poetic manner and with an air of nostalgia. A lot of people can relate to the idea of having a secret love, and the lyrics evoke the feeling of a love that had to remain hidden and unspoken. Katherine Jenkins sings the song beautifully, and her powerful voice adds to the dreamy and emotional tone of the song. This song is an excellent representation of how love can be both exciting and frightening, especially when it comes to revealing it to the world.

Once I had a secret love
There was a time when I had a love that I kept hidden from everyone
That lived within the heart of me

All too soon my secret love
However, it didn't stay hidden for long
Became impatient to be free
It grew too strong to be kept hidden any longer
So I told a friendly star
I confided in a star because dreamers do that
The way that dreamers often do
As if there's something about stars that makes it easy to tell secrets to them
Just how wonderful you are
I told the star just how amazing you are
And why I'm so in love with you
I also explained why I am so deeply in love with you
Now I shout it from the highest hills
Now that my love is out in the open, I'm not ashamed to proclaim it loudly
Even told the golden daffodils
I don't want to keep my feelings a secret from anything or anyone in nature
At last my heart's an open door
My heart is no longer locked up inside, but open for all to see
And my secret love's no secret anymore
Finally, my love isn't a secret anymore - I can tell everyone and anyone
