Way To The Future
Katie Herzig Lyrics

She writes her songs, only for you to sing
She digs the words, out of the sky
She leaves them there, for you to find
The way that you love dear, the fate of the world you leave behind
A way to the future, making a moment built to last
You want to love well, now's your chance
You hear the beat, over the radio
You see the sea, satellite picture show
You take the words, out the sky
She left them there, for you to find
The way that you love dear, the fate of the world you leave behind
A way to the future, making a moment built to last
You want to love well, now's your chance
The way that you love dear, the fate of the world you leave behind
A way to the future, making a moment built to last
You want to love well, now's your chance
The lyrics to Katie Herzig's "Way To The Future" appear to be about a songwriter who writes music for a special someone. The subject of the song digs deep to find the words for the song, as though they're finding them in the sky. They're leaving them there for the listener to find, which could be interpreted as an invitation to find meaning for oneself in the music. The chorus emphasizes the importance of the listener's actions and love, and how they will impact the world. The past has already determined the future, yet the listener can make a difference by loving well in the present.
It's unclear who is being addressed in the song, but the idea that lyrics can be found in the sky is intriguing. It implies that the songwriter is discovering something transcendent and delivering it to the listener, who has the responsibility of making the most of the message. The way that the listener loves will affect the future of the world, which feels like a heavy load to carry. In the end, the song seems to encourage the listener to seize the opportunity to love and make a difference now while they still have the chance.
