After attaining several awards in newcomer and band competitions in projects with Stefan Stoppok and Paul Lukas (Element Of Crime) as well as journeying to Real World Studios (Peter Gabriel), Katja Maria Werker home-recorded her first album in 1998, "What the Bird Said", and pressed 500 copies. The album attracted much praise within her circle of music friends and yet it took a further two years until a talent scout helped her to get a deal with Germany's major label BMG.
In the fall of 2000, Katja's album "Contact Myself" was released and went straight to #47 in the German album charts after her legendary prison gig in the RTL series "Hinter Gittern" (Behind Bars).
Sven Regner (Element Of Crime) was one of many renouned musicians who added his special sound to the album. Stereoplay and AUDIO declared "Contact Myself" as album of the month ans Katja as an artist to be discovered.
Katja then took time off to become a mother. For five years she worked on her next album, "Leave that thing behind", released in 2005, for which she produced everything including the artwork.
At present Katja is working on an album in English to be released in early 2008, titled "Heartbreak Boulevard", which is to reflect her musical roots.
She's also working in an album sung in German, which can be heard on Katja's myspace site (www.myspace.com/katjawerker).

take me with you
take me with you
to the water
take me with you
take me with you
through the fire
we're melting
we're riding
right into the eye of the storm
the carpet reminds me of something
we're rising
we're falling
I got you and you got me
take me with you
take me with you
take me with you
to the water
take me with you
take me with you
take me with you
through the fire
my breath dampens your shoulder
we're swinging
we're drifting
shipwrecked to a salty shore
your skin is painted by sunlight
we're sailing
we trickle away
I can feel your heartbeat
take me with you
take me with you
take me with you
to the water
Katja Maria Werker's song "Yes" is a poetic description of a journey with a lover through different experiences. In the first stanza, the singer asks to be taken with her partner, using repetition to emphasize the urgency of the moment. The water could represent rebirth or cleansing, while the fire could symbolize passion or danger. The reference to the jukebox playing "conception" adds a mystical element, as if they are embarking on a journey to create something new or meaningful.
In the next stanza, the singer describes how the carpet reminds her of something, possibly a memory or a feeling. They are rising and falling, but they have each other to hold on to. The image of riding into the eye of the storm creates a sense of excitement and anticipation, as if they are unafraid of the challenges they may encounter.
The final stanza is the most sensual, as the singer describes the physical sensations of being with her partner. Her breath dampens his shoulder, their skin is painted with sunlight, and they can feel each other's hearts beating. The journey ends with them sailing away and trickling away, as if their destiny is uncertain or undefined.
Overall, "Yes" is a beautiful and poetic tribute to love, adventure, and the journey of life.
