Daisies
Katy Perry Lyrics

I guess you're out of your mind 'til it actually happens
I'm the small town
One in seven billion
Why can't it be me?
They told me I was out there
Took those sticks and stones
Showed 'em I could build a house
They tell me that I'm crazy
But I'll never let 'em change me
'Til they cover me in daisies
Daisies, daisies
They said I'm going nowhere
Tried to count me out
Took those sticks and stones
Showed 'em I could build a house
They tell me that I'm crazy
But I'll never let 'em change me
'Til they cover me in daisies
Daisies, daisies
When did we all stop believing in magic?
Why did we put all our hopes in a box in the attic?
I'm the long-shot
I'm the Hail Mary
Why can't it be me?
They told me I was out there
Tried to knock me down (knock me down)
Took those sticks and stones
Showed 'em I could build a house
They tell me that I'm crazy
But I'll never let 'em change me
'Til they cover me in daisies
Daisies, daisies
They said I'm going nowhere
Tried to count me out
Took those sticks and stones
Showed 'em I could build a house
They tell me that I'm crazy
But I'll never let 'em change me
'Til they cover me in daisies
Daisies, daisies
I'm the small town
One in seven billion
Why can't it be me?
They told me I was out there
Tried to knock me down
Took those sticks and stones
Showed 'em I could build a house
They tell me that I'm crazy
But I'll never let 'em change me
'Til they cover me in daisies
Daisies, daisies
They said I'm going nowhere
Tried to count me out (count me out)
Took those sticks and stones
Showed 'em I could build a house
They tell me that I'm crazy

Daisies, daisies
The song "Daisies" by Katy Perry is a song about perseverance in the face of adversity. The lyrics describe the struggles of pursuing one's dreams and not giving up despite what others may say. Perry expresses the feeling of being an outsider, someone who is seen as crazy or out there for daring to dream beyond their circumstances. The chorus, "They tell me that I'm crazy, but I'll never let 'em change me 'til they cover me in daisies," highlights the determination to keep going until her dreams are realized.
Perry also questions why society has stopped believing in magic and put all their hopes in a box in the attic. The line, "When did we all stop believing in magic?" suggests a desire to embrace the unknown and believe in the impossible. Perry believes that anything is possible, and she refuses to let society's expectations dictate how she should live her life.
The repetition of the lines, "Took those sticks and stones, showed 'em I could build a house," serves as a metaphor for overcoming obstacles and proving others wrong. Perry is saying that despite the naysayers, she is capable of building something great.
Overall, "Daisies" is an ode to determination, perseverance, and believing in oneself.

From Katheryn Hudson to Katy Hudson to Katy Perry . Daisies feels like a completely reborn Katy, she cut ties with numbers defining her identity, stripped off all the production threw away the wigs, this aesthetic feels like i'm meeting Katy for the first time and falling in love with her all over again๐

I think this song relates pretty much to what she's going through right now in her life.
She struggled to start her career, then everybody "loved" her and she became successful... But when "Witness" came out everybody laughed at her, made fun of her and called her crazy... She never let that change her, she kept true to herself and to her fans; she never stopped being silly, funny and looking at things the way she does, as if everything was magic.
She understood long ago that negative opinions cannot stop her from being happy.
Now she has "built a house", she is loved more than ever for the people she cares about, she's gonna be a mom, she has her own happy family.
She is ready to be happy until the day we cover her in #Daisies.
