When Ranbir did this film in 2009, he was a totally newcomer acting opposite to Konkona Sen Sharma who at that time has been already 9 year in the industry with two film fare awards. Ranabir acting so naturally opposite Konkona, nobody could say he was a newcomer. He justified his role in the film. It actually does not matter how anyone gets a role, the person has to actually act and prove his or her capacity.
Remember, Bullshit can take you to the top but cannot keep you over there. Ranbir is a good actor, which is why he is still there.
