I understand that Yoshi’s Story doesn’t have the highest opinion among gamers, but this was one of my single favorite games as a kid. I loved its storybook aesthetic, low-stakes platforming, and overall cheery nature. In the infancy of this channel, I uploaded a full collection of all the tracks from the game, but it’s fun to listen to these tunes in isolation. They all remix the same core melody, but in such different styles to be almost unrecognizable. This jungle theme's aggressive chanting is so over the top and weird it’s impossible not to love it.

The problem with Yoshi's Story is the existence of Yoshi's Island.
It isn't a bad game per se, but Yoshi's Island was peak platforming perfection.
For many people like me, who grew up with Yoshi's Island and turned teens once the N64 hit, the game was a major disappointment.
I tried REALLY hard to like it, but it just didn't work.
I agree with you though, that the crazy remixes of the main theme are the best part of the game.
