Grow a Pear
Ke$ha Lyrics

And I could tell you took it hard, it was all over your face
That you were slippin' and flippin' but here is the sitch
I signed up for a man but you are just a bitch
You should know
That I love you a lot
But I just can't date a dude with a vag'
When we fell in love, you made my heart drop
And you had me thinking 'bout you nonstop
That you cried 'bout this and whine about that
When you grow a pair you can call me back
Yeah, I think you're hot, I think you're alright
But you're acting like a chick all the time
You were cool and now you're not, just like that
When you grow a pair you can call me back
When I first met you, panties droppin'
Every time I saw you, it was on and
One day you asked if we can just talk and
That's the reason why I'm walkin'
If I am honest, I'm just not hooked on your phonics
I'm not tryna be rude or crude, I just wanted one thing from you
And you got confused
You should know
That I love you a lot
But I just can't date a dude with a vag'
When we fell in love, you made my heart drop
And you had me thinking 'bout you nonstop
That you cried 'bout this and whine about that
When you grow a pair you can call me back
Yeah, I think you're hot, I think you're alright
But you're acting like a chick all the time
You were cool and now you're not just like that
When you grow a pair you can call me back
When you grow a pear you can call me back
When you grow a pair you can call me back
Grow a pair, you can call me back
When you grow a pair you can call me back
Oh
Grow a pair you can call me back
And no, I don't want to see your mangina
When you grow a pair you can call me back
When we fell in love, you made my heart drop
And you had me thinking 'bout you nonstop
That you cried 'bout this and whine about that
When you grow a pair you can call me back
Yeah, I think you're hot, I think you're alright
But you're acting like a chick all the time
You were cool and now you're not, just like that
When you grow a pair you can call me back
In Ke$ha's song "Grow a Pear," the singer is expressing her frustration with a past partner who she believed was a man but turned out to be more feminine in their actions and behavior. Ke$ha sings about her disappointment in the person, especially after he asks to talk with her in a way that seems unlike a man. She tells him that she loves him a lot, but she cannot date someone with a vagina, stating that he needs to "grow a pair" before he can call her back. Ke$ha also points out that the person was initially very attractive to her, but their feminine behavior turned her off.
The song's lyrics are controversial as they could be interpreted as transphobic. It implies that men behaving in feminine ways are not real men, which is not true. The song may also reinforce the idea that femininity makes someone weak or inferior. On the other hand, Ke$ha may be expressing her personal preferences, and the song may be more about her own experience.
Overall, "Grow a Pear" is a catchy tune with a clear message about Ke$ha's feelings towards her former love interest. While the lyrics may be problematic, the overall sentiment of the song can resonate with anyone who has felt frustrated with a partner's actions or behavior.

Many people are calling the song sexist and transphobic. I think what they lack is context: the song is about kesha dating a guy with a sexist fragile masculinity and basically an asshole. So to insult him, she uses what hurts him the most, sexist and fragile masculinity insults (βyou seem to have a vaginaβ, βyou act like a girlβ, βyou don't stop cryingβ, βwhen you grow a pair you can call me backβ etc. ) to emphasize how idiotic it is for being that way.
