Mecho Maniac
Keenhouse Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Had to ask if she was from around here
Answered no said I′m a mysterious traveller
From the Jet set I asked, no but international
Long distance sleep walker, casual small talker
Final destination? Well I'm not quite sure
Not yet past my prime and you still look so pure
Where will I be when I′m there?
Na nana na na nana
She's a Mecho Maniac, puppet on a superstring
Na nana na na nana
Dancing venus fly trap, love stealing queen machine
Na nana na na nana
She's a Mecho Maniac, puppet on a superstring
Na nana na na nana
Dancing venus fly trap, love stealing queen machine
Two days pass she′s nowhere to be found
Young kid rider now you′ve hit the ground
Comes into my mind that I was left behind by a
Well travelled time tourist, equinox fashionist
Will we meet again cause more than's met the eye has
Slipped right out my door but there must be some more
Want to be here and everywhere tell me
Where will I be when I′m there?
Na nana na na nana
She's a Mecho Maniac, puppet on a superstring
Na nana na na nana
Dancing venus fly trap, love stealing queen machine
Na nana na na nana
She′s a Mecho Maniac, puppet on a superstring
Na nana na na nana
Dancing venus fly trap, love stealing queen machine
Type her name in are you feeling lucky now
Type her name in are you feeling lucky now
Type her name in are you feeling lucky now
Na nana na na nana
She's a Mecho Maniac, puppet on a superstring
Na nana na na nana
Dancing venus fly trap, love stealing queen machine
Na nana na na nana
She′s a Mecho Maniac, puppet on a superstring
Na nana na na nana
Dancing venus fly trap, love stealing queen machine
The lyrics to Keenhouse's song "Mecho Maniac" tell the story of a chance encounter with a mysterious woman who identifies herself as a "traveller" from the Jet Set. The singer is intrigued by her and asks her various questions, to which she gives cryptic but intriguing answers. The woman disappears for a few days, leaving the singer wondering if he will ever see her again. The chorus repeats the phrase "Na nana na na nana" and describes her as a "Mecho Maniac" and a "puppet on a superstring," as well as a "dancing Venus flytrap" and a "love stealing queen machine."
The song seems like a surreal exploration of the idea of the unknown and the allure of the enigmatic. The singer seems to be fascinated by the woman's apparent freedom and desire to explore everywhere, but at the same time, he remains grounded in his own physical world, wondering where he will be when she is somewhere else. The repetition in the chorus adds to the hypnotic quality of the song and contributes to the idea of the woman being a kind of mechanical creation, like a machine or a puppet.
